What's happened to Edozie
at 15:54 28 Jan 2026

It's his birthday according to the socials.

I do hope the club gave him a cake, as we wouldn't want him to do a Delgado and go missing for months on end....

Will Solak be turning up at games after he has sold most of his shares in the club?

I rather doubt it.

I don't think this season should be done.

There is no reason why we can't go on a run of wins to get us in the top 6.

Steve Grant was there.

I walked to St. Mary’s with him on Sunday morning from the Premier Inn.

He goes to pretty much every game TBF.

We have more chance of going up now than next season
at 10:52 27 Jan 2026

Next year is the last year of the larger parachute payments.

The following year sees a much reduced sum coming in.

I agree that we are not currently anywhere near having a good enough team for the Prem, but then neither did Sunderland when they were being outplayed by Coventry and Sheffield United in the play-offs, and somehow beat both of them.

When you say, more likely we deemed him too expensive....

There unfortunately seems to be a fairly low bar on that front.

at 08:32 27 Jan 2026

For the club to just write the season off now, as Nick indicated on Solent last night, is madness.

Even with the big points gap to the play-offs, if we can somehow get 3 or 4 wins on the bounce, it puts us in with a chance of finishing in the top 6.

The Championship will be much tougher next season, in our final year of the big parachute payments.

Burnley, Wolves and (probably) West Ham will be strong.

Birmingham will be stronger, probably Sheffield United and probably Wrexham would as well too. Even Norwich may have some impetus.

If we don't go up this season, we could well lose Scienza and Harwood-Bellis, and would we really replace them with superior players????

If we can get in the play-offs this season, I don't think there would be anyone to fear.

We are in danger of looking back on this in years to come as a real chance wasted.

Ridiculous number of dibble stood around on pavements doing fcuk all.

Very excessive numbers of police who travelled from all over the country.

Around the ground I get it, but there were far more around the outskirts than were surely needed.

I suspect the bubble is here to stay though.

His (non) reaction to Scienza’s goal was interesting, I thought.

Having Ross Stewart will help us with the aerial presence at corners.

Peretz does worry me at corners; you can tell he hasn't previously played in a League where there are so many crosses coming into the penalty area.

Quarshie is tall, but I don't think he's that good in the air.

It's taken me 25 years TBF.

I could actually hear the Northam last night though, so fair do's.

Not going to get carried away as we always seem to do well against Sheffield United for some reason.

But we look much better with Ross Stewart in the side.

Brilliant save from Peretz at the end from Bamford; shite defending led to the chance, mind. Would have been doom and gloom on here if that had gone in.

And now the world looks a better place.

Pompey Back In The Bottom 3 As It Stands

I do actually wonder if many of our Corporate pocket of tickets will be used.

Hard to imagine many of them turning up at early o'clock on Sunday at a cold St. Mary's, with a fair few hours of hanging around doing nothing.

Actual attendance tonight EXCLUDING non-attending ST holders
at 12:07 21 Jan 2026

Think it could be a really low one tonight.

Weather is miserable and morale has rarely been lower.

Sheffield presumably won't bring many.

I'm going to go for an official nonsensical attendance of 24,000.

But an actual attendance of 17,000.

Have Sports Republic a plan if we lose tonight and Sunday ?
at 08:56 21 Jan 2026

The Echo have picked their predicted starting XI for tonight, which excludes Armstrong, and is frankly a recipe for an absolute disaster frankly.

They are going with:

Peretz

Manning
Jelert

Stephens
Harwood-Bellis
Wood

Downes
Bragg

Azaz
Robinson (in ahead of Scienza)
Archer

I am hoping the Echo are on a wind-up here, as I could see that team losing by 3 or 4.
