Might as well get Chambers back as well then and have a back 4 of:

McCarthy Chambers Stephens Shaw

I'd love to see it

Forster...
at 14:16 17 Jan 2017

15/16 Forster's save percentage 74.6%
16/17 Forster's save percentage 54.8%

Massive drop off in form. And it's made more noticable because we're conceding much less shots on target this season: 3.68 vs 2.95 per game

If he'd maintained his save rate we'd have conceded 9 less goals in the league.

I was told the two signings were playing in Portugal and France

Yep!

Just looked him up on Whoscored. Weaknesses:

Finishing

Sounds about right! Kids only 20 though so could be an interesting signing as an inside forward.

Ward-prowse and Long
at 11:30 15 Jan 2017

Long's more valuable to us against better opposition who press high and try to play out from the back. That's where his pace on the counter and doggedness can do some damage.

Against teams who sit back and play longer balls out of defence he's almost nullified because his ball retention and passing don't help in creating chances, and his finishing isn't clinical enough.

He's a good and useful player when used correctly.

Christ our strikers are sh¡t at the moment.

We're shooting as much as Arsenal but scoring less than Hull.

I'm as big a Les Reed fan as the next man, but going into the season relying Austin (immobile + injury problems), Jay Rod (Been out for two years) and Long (Reached 10 PL goals only once ever) has been a gamble that really isn't paying off.

Forster has been awful this season too.

Sticks' CB Scouting Report

Scratch that then. we should have signed him last summer when we were in 'advanced talks' for 8.5m. Then again we got VVD instead so not all bad.

Those 3 would all be decent, I just thought I'd have a look at foreign leagues because we don't do a lot of business in the Premier League

Fonte Hands In Transfer Request
at 16:28 5 Jan 2017

Fonte's been a great player for us but is 33 now and we could do without the captain being a disruptive influence.

Cheers Jose and lets look to the future, it's a bit similar to the Lambert situation a couple of years back

Time For Puel To Stop Trying To Be Clever And Get Back To Basics
at 13:49 5 Jan 2017

----Redmond --------Long --------Sims-----------
-----Prowsey---------Reed-------Hojbjerg-------
McQueen-----VVD------Stephens-----Martina
------------------------Forster-------------------------

That'll do it, or perhaps:

-------------------------Long -------------------------
-----Redmond------- Hesketh-------Sims--------
-----------------Reed-------Hojbjerg---------------
McQueen-----VVD------Stephens-----Martina
------------------------Forster------------------------

Maybe not, but you can't deny the root of it is that we're just not putting chances away.

Puel Out
at 13:38 30 Dec 2016

Not really true though is it, we've just been absolutely sh!t at finishing this season.

Last season 11% of our shots were goals

This season its down to 6%

We'd have 30 goals instead of 17 if our strikers were finishing at the same rate as last season and with that quite a few more points I'd expect.

Regardless of formation or style, consistently playing Redmond over Tadic is criminal.

Puel should at least be given this season though, I think his ideas are good but the players have been letting him down, we really need a striker.

Bring back Captain Morgan to spice things up

I doubt it if West Brom have gone as far as making their bid public. Everton could afford to pay him the Utd wages but maybe it would it fook off other players in their squad.

Speaking out against something isn't a hate crime, attacking someone in Bristol who had nothing to do with a terrorist attack in Berlin just because they are muslim is though.

The Police are there for everybodys protection.

Saints Head Into Christmas In Par Position !
at 13:52 21 Dec 2016

Of the current premier league clubs we are:

13th Wages paid
11th Stadium size
13th Average Premier League positon
11th Turnover (last year)
13th Trophies Won
10th Social media followers

Par looks about 12th for me, I think we've been punching above our weight and continue to do so.

PS I know social media followers doesn't mean sh¡t and I personally couldn't give a fook but it helps build a picture of where we sit, Deloittes use it when doing their rankings anyway
