QPR v Bristol City match thread

BBC states 30% possession by whole team. Assuming the ball was in play no more than 60 minutes that should mean our whole team would only have had the ball for about 18 minutes. That’s 18 minutes spread between 11 players excluding subs. Tbh, I’m more surprised any of our players had more than 20 touches.

They are running through are midfield very easily, especially from their centre backs to our penalty area. Morgan for Anderson, if Frey can do a half he needs to come on for Kolli.

4 Clean sheets in a row

I think his giving the ball away was more frustrating as many of those were under, relatively, low pressure. He made numerous attempts to play inside 20 yard passes that didn’t find a teammate.
However, there were a few times I remember him pushing high up on the left into space and the pass not coming and it must be a challenge to play on the opposite side to where you’ve always played.

Three out of next four games at home. For most teams that would be a good thing, but we really need to start putting in similar performances to today at Loftus Rd.

From their twitter feed.

Alfie misses out ❌

The R's forward misses tonight's clash owing to a minor issue picked up in training on Monday.

The Leeds fans views on their twitter feed team selection isn’t exactly the most positive read.
An ever so slight glimmer of hope 🤷‍♂️

Any free kick, the player taking doesn’t have to pass to a teammate in order to restart play, they can dribble ball or take several touches if they wish. That will quicken the restart and play in general. I think they introduced this in hockey a few years back???

As said below, especially 5 and 7 aside football up to u10, you rarely see any player deliberately heading the ball so it won’t impact the play. In fact, most shy away from heading the ball at all.
When they move to u11 is when it could make a noticeable difference as that’s when mini soccer moves to 9 aside with an increase on pitch size. So things like corners could be impacted perhaps.
What they’ve also introduced is the removal of throw-ins for same ages. It’ll be a kick on or dribble on that you sometimes see implemented at grassroots tournaments.
