Its strange how if this conversation was being had in the pub, its likely that you would have a reasoned debate, yet on a message board, the insults come out.

There is a reason why the most successful manager of this clubs history selects Joe Bunney. He works hard, is a decent finisher, offers a balance to the side being left footed, seems like a good lad and has shown signs of development since he's been at the club, albeit not as much as the likes of camps/cannon and allen. Ultimately, I feel he will only be used as a squad player as the season goes on and allesandra will take his place but when something isn't broken, there's no need to go fixing it...yet.

Lillis

I think its fair to be separately brought up. Lillis has always been a decent keeper for us but its been apparent that he lacks a bit of confidence at times. So far, so good though - He's been brilliant

Olly Lancashire?
at 23:13 26 Jan 2015

I don't have as much confidence in him as JOC but at the same time, wouldn't consider him a weak link in the team. He's automatically going to be compared to JOC as it is his position that he has stepped into which probably makes it harder for him but I can see him improving as the season goes on.

I though Bennett played with a lot more aggression tonight -He was one of the best players on the pitch, never mind just for us. Overall, a team performance to be proud of. Onto Coventry

Olly Lancashire?
at 23:01 26 Jan 2015

Think that's unfair criticism of Olly.

It was actually Lancashire and O'Connell who were our first team partnership last season and whenever O'Connell was out of the team, it was Olly that was the stronger out of him and Eastham. This season Eastham has been excellent and is rightly first choice but I actually thought Olly had a good game tonight, as did all the lads. The more Olly plays, the more he will get to grips with league 1. He hasn't played that much this season and he shouldn't be compared to a talent like O'Connell (although I understand why he is).

Ground or O'Connell...Discuss

I'm finding it difficult to understand what the benefits are in obtaining the stadium?

Apart from having control of the Studds and possibly the catering side of things, what other benefits are there for us?

The board have more business nous than myself and I'm sure there are other reasons but what are they?

I would take a guess that JOC's current market value is £500k+, never mind his potential value. Whether the money is there from Hogan or not, that would surely be too much for a club like ours to spend.

Would love it to happen but right now, I'm just delighted to have him back on loan

Jamie Allen
at 17:00 23 Mar 2014

Allens been brilliant. Hill has done a really good job with slowly involving him this season and you see the confidence in his play grow more and more with each game he plays.

He keeps it simple yet effective, keeps the ball and has developed a knack of snatching a goal.

Think a few comments are a little too hyped - If we was to go down the comparison route - Dawson was more of a player and I feel O'Connell is but take nothing away from Allen, there's a lot more to come from him and I for one look forward to seeing him continue to develop in a Dale shirt.

Ps What a goal that was yesterday - Great to see him with a smile on his face!

Torquay v Dale highlights (!)
at 18:03 12 Mar 2014

Didnt notice at the game but Lancashire ends up on the deck from that free kick - I imagine he was fouled/blocked off which led to the free header.

Also feel the sending off was harsh. Benyon held onto Olly before throwing himself to ground.

For what its worth, we didn't deserve anything from last nights game. We were out battled and didn't impose our passing game enough to dictate. Think Torquays style played some part and their gritty off the ball tugs and trips didn't allow us to really get going at any stage. Thought Showunmi and Benyon caused us problems all night and we didn't test their back four enough - Donnelly would be a championship player if he could just react that split second sooner to game situations but we didn't play enough in the final third

On to the next one. Theres no need to over react to one bad result. It will happen - Itshow we react that counts!

I see it as a point gained. We came up against a well organised team who seemed to be that bit sharper than us, especially in the middle. Feel as though we did enough to earn the point but it says something about the oppositions tactics when Jack O'Connell arguably touched the ball more than anyone else tonight! Hendo struggled to get into the game and I think we struggled to really gather momentum at any one period in the game.

On a side note kenny Jackett was in the crowd again tonight - probably keeping an eye on Ismail whilst taking in Hogans performance. Also, no Bennett, Cummins, Hery or Bunney on the bench tonight?

Reece Gray joins Hyde
at 19:06 3 Oct 2013

As stated by Hill at the forum, The Hyde move wasn't the right one for Gray at that time in his career.

For where he is now, at this point in his career, this does seem like the right move. He has the potential and really hope he can kick start his career again.

I still feel he will have a part to play this season but he needs to take the opportunities that are given to him

Completely agree with what you have put.

Whats all this about a "gambling culture" though? I know Coleman has had history during his Accy days. Have I missed something?

I understand what you are saying but you could argue Done has come back to do the exact same thing, given Hill's comments and him being on a 1 year deal, yet he is yet to break into the team. I'd imagine he's pretty much match fit now and its only the form of our front four that are stopping him from being in the starting eleven.

If Hill can get Croft to sign a similar deal, I think it will benefit both parties. We give him the opportunity to prove himself and move onward and upwards and we get a very good league 1 player on our hands. Win, win in my eyes.

Putting men on the posts from corners, I understand. Applying the same method when defending a deep free kick would just be inviting pressure on to us, given that we'll be forced to defend as deep as the goal line.

As quality as the pass was from Hogan for the third, I doubt it would have made it had the pitch not been in the condition its in!
