Yeah I'm going for the Bengals too, its a valid point about Mahomes with his high ankle sprain not being mobile. I don't know why they brought him straight back after Henne had led them on a team record 98 YD TD drive. I thought they would have tried to save Mahomes and only use him if needed rather than risk injury. Other than an injury hit OL (not that you would know based on the poor showing from Buffalo) Bengals are in good shape and looking strong, they match up well with KC and seem to have their number. Burrows is right up there behind Mahomes when looking for the 2nd best QB in the league. As for the other game, as good as Philly as is i'm on the Brock Purdy bandwagon, since Mr. Irrelevant entered in week 11 (I think) he's leading all QB's in most category's and #2 in the ones he's not #1 at. It's a fairytale story and would love to see him win the SB. That will really bugger things up with Trey Lance and what they do with him after trading so much for him. Philly is a good team and not an easy place to go to, most of the country is going to be against them.so they have a chip on their shoulder too. They have a bad rap across the country as being scummy fans, never had an issue with them at Gillette but never been to Philly for a game. Only time I was in Philly was due to a snow storm and being stuck overnight, people were great and had a great time. Gave some Flyers fans a ride to their hotel after a Winter Classic NHL game at Fenway Park. They were blown away and asked how they could repay me, I said Philly has a bad rap, if you ever see a New England/Boston fan in Philly needing help please help them out. Should be a good Sunday but hoping for Bengals/Niners SB. |

Was out in Las Vegas week and half ago for the Patriots game, what a crazy finish to a game and 20,000 Pats fans just in utter disbelief. Highlight of the trip though was meeting Drew Bledsoe the day before, he was on the radio broadcasting from the Wynn. I had his gameday shirt on from the 95 season, he spotted it, pointed at me and gave a thumbs up saying "nice shirt man". He walked over on a break, we did a selfie and he said "we have to get the shirt in the pic" then he signed it, I was like a little kid. For a brand new stadium it's an absolute piece of crap, of the 9 NFL stadiums I've been to I would would put it 3rd worst behind the Pats old stadium and then Buffalo's, the two ahead of it are/were years old though not brand new. Anyway going to the Pats/Fins game on NY day, crazy to think after this past 2 weeks the Pats still control their own playoff destiny. I can see us beating Miami but not Buffalo in Buffalo especially if they need to win to clinch a bye. At least it's a meaningful game to be at on Sunday and going to be over 50f so not cold either, bring it on! |

We got wind yesterday the Pats were playing in Vegas Dec 18th, managed to book flights and hotel for 4 nights given we had 24 hours to cancel. Luckily the info was correct when the schedule came out so able to get this before all the price gouging starts. To put the gouging in perspective we went o Nashville in 2018 for the Pats game, Southwest airlines wanted over $1000 for a direct flight from Boston there and back. I took pretty much the exact same flight 11 months earlier and that cost us $170, robbing b******s. We ended up flying into Louisville and renting a car for a few days driving 2 hours to Nashville , saved me and my mate between $6-700 each. |

Just curious where you sit with this one given you didn't want DSW at Miami but is it OK with Tyreek Hill being there? A solid argument can be made that on the moral compass DSW is the lesser of the two evils compared to Tyreek Hill. No doubting his ability as a player but his life decisions and general ability as a human being have provided interesting discussion over the years. |

I agree with your synopsis on this coming weekends games. I'm looking forward to Brady and Brees, Saints are 2-0 this year against them, I see no reason they can't make it 3-0 so long as Brees is healthy. |

I did, although couldn't bring myself to put the shirt on, it was still a strange experience shouting for the Bills! At the end of the day that was a great game to watch, especially for the neutral. Allen did his best to give it away in the 4th and some questionable, at best calls from Reich. I was blown away he didn't kick the FG in the first, didn't make any sense, on the road in the playoffs take the points. |

I have a bet with a mate of mine who thinks the Bills are 1 and done, as much as I have come to hate the Bills over the years I can appreciate a good team so I offered him a $20 bet. We're going out for a late lunch and to watch the game, this is going to be a little weird and the first time ever I believe, I'll be shouting for Buffalo. I actually have an old Bills Bledsoe shirt that a friend bought me years ago (love Drew Bledsoe) but not sure I can actually bring myself to go that far and actually wear it.....some things are just wrong! |

Spare a thought for those poor buggers from Detroit, me and a friend were discussing this a few days ago. Since 1957 they have only won 1 playoff game and that was in 1991, 1 in 63 years! In regards to the Patriots lack of playoffs this year I won't know what to do with myself, been a long run since they last didn't make it, 2008 when they still finished 11-5 with Matt Cassell at QB. I'm not going to complain though! Steelers are on a slide and wouldn't really have the firepower to stay with KC I doubt anyway, can the Bills go toe to toe with them? It can be done, Patriots did it 2 years ago. |

Could really have done with a Brown win although that was a great game. There is still a path to the playoffs for the Pats with multiple losses for the Fins, Ravens and Raiders. It's a pretty slim chance and realistically I probably shouldn't be greedy! Since Pittsburgh have lost a couple it's difficult to look past the Chiefs right now, they're heavily favoured in Vegas. This offseason should be interesting with some potential experienced QB moves plus another 3 QBs after Lawrence projected to go top 10 in the draft. |

John Smith was a little before my time although was and still is talked about. It used to be back in the day when people found out I was English and a Pats fan I would be asked if I knew him! Bledsoe was my guy, loved that fella, had Parcells picked Rick Mirer instead of Bledsoe with the overall #1 pick in 93 there is no doubt in my mind we would not have gone on to achieve what we have. He put the Pats back on the map and the new Stadium (at the time in 2002) was really the house that Drew built not Brady. |

If you ever get chance to see that you should, it really does make you appreciate what a stud he is. Not for the faint of heart and squeamish, there are some pretty graphic things in there. At one point his wife inquires about the leg to which the Dr responds they're focused on saving his life not the leg. As nasty as the break was it was still somewhat routine surgery and nothing to bad until it got infected. They pretty much had to remove all the muscle from the knee down. I think you guys got the NFC East then once in the playoffs who knows. Drew Brees has still yet to return, Tampa and GB are both beatable. NFC right now is wide open. |

Ahh Boston's local boy! His hail Mary in the Orange Bowl for Boston College is still talked about on a regular basis. I remember him playing for Buffalo. I want to say he replaced someone mid season, got them to the playoffs then they benched him and started the other QB (Johnson I think) and ultimately lost the game. I could be talking crap but it seems to stick in my memory for some reason. I've been to Buffalo for a Pats game when Bledsoe was the QB, it's a different place. Can get a drink at 3am in the morning but 1pm on a Saturday lunchtime looking for a bar to watch the BC/Notre Dame game was almost impossible. On a side note, Josh Allen looks like he could well be the real deal, certainly got all the physical attributes. He needs to make sure he keeps it together mentally. |

As a long time Patriot fan (first game in 91) the fact we can still technically talk about the play offs with 3 games to go is more than I would have though prior to the start of the season. Given Cam Newton coming in, all the hold out's due to Covid and the schedule I was really thinking 4-5 wins tops. They're 2 plays away from being 8-5 and have exceeded many expectations. I think the Pats could win out and still finish #2 in the East or certainly go 2-1 and have a say in who gets a wild card spot, the Bills are pretty much locked into winning the division. Next year is going to be interesting, a ton of cap room for the Pats and talks of Ryan or Stafford being QB. I think Belicheck could work well with either one although I personally would love Matt Ryan in a Pats uniform. As a bit of back ground I'm not a Pats homer, I have season tickets and was one of a handful of Pats fans who saw Bradys first NFL appearance on Thanksgiving day away at Detroit in 2000. We got destroyed and Bledsoe got pulled in the 4th quarter for some young fella called Tom. There is a lot of talk over here about Lawrence not wanting to play for the Jets and won't go there. I can't really blame him if he went that way, that organization is hapless, not quite Detroit standards but still bad and can be a career breaker. Whoever gets him is going to have one of those generational type of players ala Brady, Manning, Luck etc. Assuming the Pats aren't going to make the playoffs I'm going to shout for Washington if they make it. The Alex Smith story is nothing short of remarkable, full credit to him. Have you guys seen the ESPN E60 Project 11 on Smith. It's amazing he's walking let alone playing football? |

All bickering aside yes that was a ballsy call to go for it on 4th and 1. The Bills really need a QB next year, while Taylor is functional that mainly applies if they're in front, if they're behind he's not the guy that can bring you back. Kirk Cousins is a free agent, he might be a decent fit up there. |

Watford Dale yes the taping of the Rams practice was brought up by a Boston newspaper, ESPN then took the story and ran with it. When it turned out to be a load of crap the newspaper issued a front page apology, ESPN acknowledged it's mistake but didn't make a big deal about it given their hatred for the Patriots. As for the Jets that was actually filming the opponents sideline from a specific location during the game (the Jets head coach was the ex defensive coordinator for NE who split the beans) . The filming of an opponents sideline is allowed from certain locations, all 32 teams do this assuming you do not use if for use during that actual game. A memo had been sent prior to that season reminding teams of certain locations you cannot film from. Belicheck basically ignored it which is what started the whole spygate. The Pats and Belicheck got the book thrown at them for giving a big F you to the league not for the actual act of filming. A lot of Pats fans (myself included) were pissed with with Belicheck and the whole process because it created a lot of attention and was basically needless, it was determined that no competitive edge was given and as with every other team they could have filmed from a different location. We now live with the tag of cheaters when in actual fact no edge was gained and comparing the team numbers prior and post spygate, post spygate blows them away. A bit like the whole deflate thing, 2nd half of the AFC championship game using the same balls the Colts used Brady went to town and took them to the cleaners. Mush better performance than the first half with the balls that were questioned. Anyway I agree with your final 4, shame about Wentz otherwise Philly could well have been going all the way. |

I would love to know about filming other teams practicing, i'm aware of ESPN running an article from the Boston globe a few years ago that was recanted, and deemed an outright lie. If you know of anything else please do tell. Officiating crews making up new rule? Once again please do tell, if you're regarding the TD turnovers with Pitt and Buffalo then it's in the rules of the game don't blame the Patriots for the NFL abiding to the rules they set out. The fact Big Ben and Tomlin don't know their arse from their elbow with a few seconds left on the clock is down to poor coaching and not being prepared, something you'll never see from the Patriots. Minnesota a few years ago warming footballs in front of a heater (when they played in the college stadium) affecting the ideal gas law, San Diego a couple of years ago when receivers used stick um on their gloves. Both team got a slap on the wrists and fined a few thou because it's Minnesota and San Diego, no one really cares. The Patriots lose TB for 4 games for a lack of air in cold weather because "it's more probable than not that he was generally aware" (I mean how vague can you be, if he was involved they would not have been all over the place each ball would have been a specific psi, his preparation is meticulous) and the your claiming the NFL Officiating is on the side of the Patriots? You should have a look on line at NFL teams cheating, you'll see the Patriots misdemeanors are pretty far down the list, it's quite an eye opener. I've been to quite a few Pats away games and can tell you true football fans appreciate what the Pats have done and what they have seen. You do get some bloody idiots who ramble on about cheating when they don't actually know the facts and numpties who refer to Belicheck as Belicheat once again not really understanding anything but ultimately it comes down to success breeding contempt. By far the most successful team in the past 2 decades, people hate us because of that and I'm OK with that ( I used to hate United when they were good too, now I more pity them). Ultimately the run is coming to an end and we'll be dethroned, I started watching them when they were crap and i'll continue should they become crap again. This post season maybe the last time we see the greatest ever coach and greatest ever QB together. |

The whole organization needs turning over from top down, they're stacked with many talented 1st and 2nd round players who can't play together and have had bad coaching. There has been some bad decisions over the years, the Johnny Manziel spectacle comes to mind! |

Ahh the old deflating thing, AKA the ideal gas law. Strange how since something so insignificant came to light TB12 has won 2 superbowls. As for hating the Bill's I do see your point regarding the 2 wins, can't really put my finger on why I don't like them so much. When I first started watching the Pats they were utter shite and the Bills had just come off their 3rd SB appearance in 3 years. Probably comes from a division rival being so successful even though it's a while ago, a bit like they hate the Pats now. Not sure why anyone would be on the Buffalo tourist board, it's hardly a place people want to visit. I do go on other teams forums before and after games just out of interest to see what's going on although I don't post I just read. Some of the shite on Two Bills Drive after the 1st game was laughable, people actually wanting to get the DA involved and pursue legal action Gronkowski, it really was pathetic. Anyway I think you guys have decent chance this weekend against Jax, I wouldn't be surprised to see your team coming to NE next Saturday evening. On a side note Pioneer, do you live in Buffalo, I assume you're originally from Rochdale? [Post edited 5 Jan 2018 20:11]

Being a Patriots season ticket holder I hate all things Buffalo. Especially the city itself its an absolute dump and like going back in time....decent wings at the Anchor bar though. |

I had a last minute quick visit back to Rochdale this weekend so caught the game and was also in the Sandy. I heard the exact same thing a few seconds prior to the goal. I said to my brother in law nothing has changed in 25 years, same old buggers stood in the Sandy complaining like when they actually had something to complain about.. |
