And all's well that ended well (eventually)

But how is Rodwell's challenge last weekend, for which his red card has been rescinded, any different from Perkin's against Darlo!!

Eh..?
at 14:43 12 Sep 2011

According to the BBC report..

"Mike Jones fired the hosts back into it from Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro's pass only for David Ball to re-establish Dale's three-goal lead with a powerful effort."

"Fired the hosts"?? - wasn't it a cheeky lob
"From a JLAA pass"?? - didn't Bishop knock it down
"Ball's powerful effort"?? - powerful?

Do the people writing the reports watch the game at all? Or even the highlights published on the same page?

Very odd!

I've had a drop out for the awards night and so have been left with an extra ticket. Does anyone want it off me? I'll take £8 for it.

Another league we're doing well in

I'd personally put us at the top/bottom, which ever way you want to look at it, as our yellow card count is the lowest in the division and we're only 8 fouls different to Exeter in total anyway.

Now available on-line.

I thought Megson was pretty easy to spot, he just looks like a 'weathered' JK, apparently the beeb think he looks more like Alan Irvine!

What I don't understand about FCUM
at 09:40 5 Nov 2010

"As for FCUM it was the only option I had left to fill the void"
- taken from interview with a fan 2 on the home page.

For a guy born in Crumpsall, and living in Middleton/Rochdale I would have thought the following options were available before setting up your own club:

Oldham AFC - 3.65 miles
Bury FC - 4.09 miles
Rochdale AFC - 5.23 miles

It's hard enough trying to get people who don't watch football every week to come along to a L1 or L2 game, but when 2,000 people realise what we knew all along. That the premiership is a piss take. Instead of putting their support into local clubs who desparately need it they set up another club.

It beggers belief!

Just a thought...
at 12:41 7 Oct 2010

Thinking about the £5 for season ticket holders of other clubs idea that bURY are doing this weekend.

I can't make away games now we play in a Southern league - family commitments and expense being the main factors. But Oldham are our 'opposite fixture' team. i.e. when we're home they're away and vice versa.

Could both Dale and Oldham take advantage of my (and i guess others) unfulfilled need for Saturday action by offering some kind of reciprocal deal for Season ticket holders of the other team. Could boost attendances by bringing in a few hundred (optimistically) bums on seats.

I accept that there would be a lot to think through in terms of making sure it works out fairly for all involved, but could this be a cheeky revenue stream to tap?

*hands up time - I used to take my son to watch bURY when I couldn't make our away fixture, when we were paired with them a few seasons back.

Betfair help
at 11:59 17 Aug 2010

I placed my first bet on Betfair at the weekend - the only bookies i could get to work on my phone, and had an accumulator on Villa, Chealsea and ManU to win. I backed it for £2 (big spender i know) and expected to cash in on the princley sum of £6.10 (including my original stake) when it came in, which it did!! .

However, I only got paid out £5.89 and expect that I lost my 21p because I placed it at the best available odds - which I'm now assuming change right up to the time the market closes, by which time it had obviously reduced.

Can anyone tell me what the best way to use betfair is so that when I place a bet I know what my winnings will be i.e. fix my odds, or is this not possible using Betfair?

Many thanks for any help.
