Totally echo your thoughts on it Freddie, it was always going to be a done deal, glad we got £75m a record deal so we really made Liverpool pay for their previous arrogance imo! Now let's get on with the Saints agenda and get some new players in to get our season back on track!
Though I still have my doubts about the manager, I think it might just fix some of his problems with the team more focussed for the rest of the season. |

Psychologically Van Dyke left in the summer so we aren't seeing the best of him now on the pitch, but he has still been a very good player to have on the pitch. I believe the board's main reason for stopping him going was to make a point to Liverpool (and Van Dyke) that their arrogant and devious approaches to poaching our players should be addressed. Having kept him and in order not to totally waste our investment and devalue him, he had to be played, but he is now being lined up for sale to Man City in January and that is the best thing for all concerned. The £50-60 million I would hope we get for him will be of greater benefit to the team overall if reinvested, than having him as a player at 75% effectiveness.
We all know where the money should be invested, so let's hope MP and Reed can save our season and our PL status by using it wisely; this to me is a critical period for Saints and I will be very interested to see how it plays out...a test for the new owners too about their intentions for the club. |

Comment | Lemina Set To Miss Burnley Game

I REALLY hope we ARE going to play Virgil at Anfield because he's class, he's still our player, we can rub their noses in it, and we still might want to show him off to get £70M out of them next summer! Also, I'd like us to win that game more than most because of all the past feelings between the clubs and mostly because it will be my first away game! :)
Oh and back to the point, we'll be fine without Lemina against Burnley too... |
