Thanks Clive, I must say I am quite mystified that the club keeps making noises about needing to buy another quality striker and yet we have Remy loaned out to Newcastle and seem adamant that we are going to sell him rather than play him. But surely he would be a 20+ goal scorer in the Championship. Ok he must be on good wages but QPR are edging closer to a Premier League return. I don't get it. |

Totally agree about DJ. I cannot understand why he doesn't start more often or why we are still uncertain about the plans for him |

I think TF has been great for QPR. With Briatore/Ecclestone trying to flog the club for a profit like any old used car, we are very lucky that it was TF who stepped up. I think the only mistake he made was in sacking Warnock, he should have stayed to the end of the season. But I can understand their excitement in getting Hughes in. His record up that point had been amazing. And TF backed Hughes to the hilt, even buying the star players that Hughes wanted. How was he to know it was a disastrous folly. We all had very high hopes at the beginning of this season and no one could have forseen the car crash that came next. I remember watching the R's play Spurs and thinking we were better than them but somehow conspired to lose the game. TF has done what we all ask and got in the best Manager he could and then let him make the football decisions. I think he has been desperately unlucky |

I'm really curious to see who will be named Captain for the forthcoming season. Nelson seems the obvious choice, but has been absent from friendlies up to now due to Olympics commitments. Will it be him, or will someone else get the shout. Was Wright-Philips captain here? |

I too just cannot understand why DJ has been left out of the squad (so far). The only negative to an otherwise great piece of team building by Hughes |
| News Comment | QPR cling on to top flight status after amazing day of reckoning — report at 16:48:08
Being a QPR fan. Seriously. It had to come down to the wire didn't it. Not comfortable and safe like Norwich and Swansea. No, we had to wait until the final whistle of another match before we knew we were safe. Last season was bad enough but this time it had to be down to the final minute. NURSE! |

Makes you wonder about the signings prior to the Fernandez takeover. If it had happened earlier in the summer Ramage and Shittu wouldn't have contracts. Neither would Dyer. Perhaps not even Gabbidon , DJ or Bothroyd, although they have turned out fairly well. Curious to see what the targets will be in Jan. |

best signing of the summer so far - gives me a slither of hope. DJ's making lots of noises about being a QPR fan so hopefully that might see him put in a little extra effort as well (?) and in any case will endear him to the fans |

Your efforts on LFW are very much appreciated by the legions of us who want to read QPR match reports and analysis with an intelligence and humour that is 2nd to none. Some of us cannot (or don't want to) go to every match but are still loyal fans (we are now in the 4th generations of QPR fans in my family) and your efforts certainly do not go unnoticed. Happy days. Cheers. |

A brilliant read as usual. Your match reports are second to none. I get bored of the way newspaper reports are incredibly simplistic and jump on the same story. A good example of this is Derby last week, when all other match reports seem to dwell on Savage had Taarabt in his pocket. 'He said so and therefore it must be true'. You pointed out this was a nonsense and in fact Savage was lucky not to be sent off, plus if our strikers had been sharper T could have provided assist for at least 2 goals and scored a brilliant lob himself. So thanks for telling it how it really is. |

Wise words. In actual fact dropping a couple of places in the league might have the advantage of scaring Briatore into selling his stake in the club. Although B+E saved the club from administration (thank you very much), its time to go. Briatore because he cannot be trusted not to screw it up again. Ecclestone because in every interview he makes a point of saying that he couldn't care less about QPR and is still a Chelsea fan at heart. If QPR hasn't got under his skin by now perhaps he should sell his stake. |

Brilliant report as usual. I don't think you should be too harsh on the R's fans that pick and choose matches. There are all kinds of fans and for some it may be a full-time job, but for others its a bit of recreational fun, and I think that's fair enough. A team needs all kinds of fans from die-hards to family outings. In west London there's a lot of competition from premier league teams. Most casual football fans I meet in the QPR 'catchment' area have adopted Chelsea, Spurs or Arsenal - especially kids. We've lost a lot of ground in the last 10 years and not many young people even know who Stan Bowles is. Hopefully the fanbase will build-up as we continue to play attractive football & win matches, which may be shallow but its life and necessary for surviving in the premiership (assuming we get there one of these days). |
