He is a very intelligent footballer, i've always thought he is better in role behind striker. He has had so many hamstring problems that he has lost a bit of pace to play out wide but he is very clever at finding pockets of space between the oppositions midfield and defence. |

I don't expect us to win any game but I do expect effort. Serious lack of effort and ideas. We have backed him all year but he looks like he's already planning for next season else where. It carries on like this we will be in the championship but Laudrup won't. |

He's got to go, that was embarrassing today. No fight, run out of ideas and not even putting our strongest team out. Tiendalli is not even a good local league player, Amat in midfield doing absolutely nothing while Rangel and Britton on the bench. Good job Carroll got sent off or it could of been worse. Westham were down to 10 men and we are crossing into the box with Bony against 5 defenders. 20 attempts on goal 0 on target. Shocking |

I have been positive all season but after today am a little worried. I know we have had really tough games but 1 point from possible 18 is not good. So called fans leaving with 20 mins left, very little singing. No passion from the fans and no passion on the pitch is not a good combination. |

Can't believe people agree with this thread, i thought us Swans fans appreciate good footballers and jdg is a very good player. Yes he hasn't been as good this season but against Villa and Man City he was very good. We are all frustrated with recent results but its not jdg fault, any team with our injuries to key players would struggle. Lets back our players not slate them. |

We pushed best team in league all the way and deserved more, we should be proud of our team today not slating our players. [Post edited 1 Jan 2014 16:29]

I think you are spot on, supporters need to lower there expectations. There are no easy wins in the best league in the world. I also think we are good enough for top 10 but this season with all extra Europa games and injuries we have had staying up is my target. Qualified for Europa knock out stages(achieved) plus staying up = successful season |

My opinion is that it wouldn't work, Rodgers tried it couple of seasons ago against already relegated Wolves and we drew 4-4. Yes it was entertaining but imagine how many the big teams would score against us. Keep it as it is but be a bit more brave with runners from midfielder getting past Bony, missing Michu late runs from midfield this season |

I agree, except for the Liverpool game the support at the Liberty has been poor this season. Last couple of seasons we have driven the team forward from the first whistle but now we wait until we score. Why has it changed? |

The point I was trying to make was that playing in Europe was always going to effect our season, as it has effected bigger teams with bigger squads in the past. Playing in Europe has enhanced our development & I am glad we are in the competition. People moaning about our results and we are only 5 points above relegation but I am trying to say we are doing very well this season considering the extra games and injuries we have had. Staying up is our target |

I am enjoying every minute of it, Swans mixing it with big guns of premier league and Europe. One of the best players of all time as manager, can it get any better. |

I agree, no need to panic. 2 years ago Newcastle nearly qualified for champions league but instead qualified for Europa, whilst in Europa only just survived relegation, not in Europa this season and they are flying again. Liverpool not in Europe and they are challenging in league again. I think we are doing excellent considering all extra games in Europa and injuries we have had. Michu our best player has struggled with fitness, next round of europa and we are still 5 points above relegation. Yes we would all like more points but we have got to be realistic. Staying up is our target and if we keep going as we are we will reach that target. |

Very harsh, the philosophy is still the same now. I think our football has been excellent, just been struggling in last third. I put that down to injuries to our best attacking player Michu. I was at Villa and the football we played was brilliant. |
| Forum Reply | Relegation battle and Ki ? at 15:39 29 Dec 2013
I would love to have ki back right now, after watching him in a attacking role in last 10 mins yesterday he was brilliant, that is what we are missing while Michu is out. Really hope we don't sell him, De Guzman is on loan so if we sell Ki we will be minus 2 quality midfielders at end of season. De Guzman hasn't been as good this season but I thought he was excellent yesterday, he controlled the game. |
| Forum Reply | "Only Bony in the box for Swansea" at 15:20 29 Dec 2013
Excellent post, It's what I been saying for a while. Michu is the only player that naturally drifts into the box late unmarked. Shelvey being asked to play that role but more often then not he is the one putting the cross in. Bony up front, Michu behind him is the way to go. Would like to see Shelve drop to a deeper midfield role. I thought Pozeulo played well behind striker when he came on, linked midfield & striker well but doesn't make that late run into box. |
| Forum Reply | Change the system - An extra midfielder? at 09:42 10 Nov 2013
I agree with this post, there's no need to change our shape. Its got us to where we are today, the extra games in Europa league and the constant change of personnel in midfield is why we are not playing at our normal high standard. Let's cut out this long diagonal ball Shelvey keeps playing and get back to one touch, two touch football playing in triangles through teams. The Swansea way! |
