I was right by it too Dave. It wasn't intentional at all - he missed his kick thanks to the wind and his arm was naturally counterbalancing his weight. Wouldn't have been given 5 years ago, but there's all that unnatural position stuff now. The irony being, it was a totally natural movement - a counterbalance. What save him was it was in line with his body and I'm not sure (without checking the highlights) that the ref had a clear view.
It was right on the touchline and looked like the ball would have gone out anyway, so would have been harsh.
Again, not dissimilar to Watford last week mind which looked a pen on highlights, the difference being the conditions and where it occurred (inside not outside shoulder near the touchline).
Yes, next summer according to a couple of the vaguely reliable wage sites.
We should be having a what if conversation informlly now. Let him know he'd be wanted, nothing more. Possible Cook replacement long term and captain material. Always loved him. Left when he needed to move on and was one of our few sellable assets. Came through the youth system, can play multiple positions, absolute specimen, family ties to the club, still only 27 what is not to like?
Trouble is WBA fans and club have come round to him finally. Might be his next contract we try to nick him back. Or if they go up and fancy an upgrade this time round. Otherwise I can't see him leaving.
I've worked on both Twickenham and Wembley. Both stadia let you on the pitch for production. Can prove it with photos or you can just take my word.
LR could in theory do this. The last block of safe standing is removable for pitch renovations. It would be tight but from memory you can just about get an HGV through.
Watch at 33secs of the pitch renovation video And 3mins 15 secs in. That's some pretty big kit on the pitch.
