Millwall sign Barry Bannan 18 month contract
at 22:21 28 Jan 2026

Regularly scored many goals each season.

I think we are allowed to create threads that are not neccessarily about QPR on here Myke, last time i looked. Actually was putting it out there, why Millwall who above us already rate the man and yet our transfers all seemingly young and no flexibility. He hasnt been just good against ourself Myke and he has been almost ever present for ten seasons.

But perhaps suggest to the posters who started a thread on Raheem Sterling, one on best three films and ones on Benfica that theres no relevance to those ones starting them on a QPR forum.

Cheers Myke. i take your point but dont understand the logic....

C'est la vie !!!

Your top 3 films!
at 19:39 28 Jan 2026

1. Schindlers List

2. Ben Hur

3. The Omen Series - Omen II being my favourite.

Special mention to one of the worst films of all time, but i dont think it had a deep meaning.

"REVENGE OF THE KILLER TOMATOES"

The most ridiculous "film" ever made....

Or the boy at school who was very religious and every Friday night could be found in the video nasty section of Blockbusters - usually selecting

"TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE"

Your phrase , "Pissing n Moaning" got me remembering a thing from the past Colin. My dad's mate used to play golf with various other men that frequented this particular pub they all went to.

This guy was presented most years with the "Pissing and Moaning" trophy.

Perhaps we ought to have an end of season competition on here, likewise.

A number of strong contenders here - could do battle, no doubt !!!!

I think we all agree on that one Ted.

Everyone moans about politicians and the rank and file on around £80k a year, some with a few extra pennies through illicit means but nowhere near your half decent footballer, and in theory, at least, politicians are making the laws of the land etc and Surgeons or most that work for the NHS saving lives on extremely average wages by way of comparison.

The curse of modern football sadly.

And half of them arent that good either....

He has left Chelsea by mutual consent.

Wants to stay living in London.

Obviously now there is no need to have him on a £300k per week. Probably £80k a week perhaps.

Won't be Arsenal obviously either.

Can see him ending up at Palace myself.

You are very trusting Sam.

To be fair also, the amount of players that are picking up injury setbacks in training to me is very poor. Is that normal ? I think that is poor.

Normally I am trusting but if people have been consistently guarded in announcements previously and been economical with the truth I look at certain statements with a pinch of salt.

Love to be one hundred percent about this.

WLS are just reporting what the club has said. They seem to be in the know about signings but injuries they can only report what is known to them by way of the club informing them.

Let's see....

There are other reasons to buy a player and half of who we sell, are not likely to earn us much at all.

One who can hit the ground running from day one. Not all signings should be about the potential and the future. Sometimes its very important to get cover for the here and now and players that can help right away.

All about balance sometimes !!!!

He is unlikely to be first choice for Millwall who are doing far better than ourselves also. So he is clearly cover. Madsen could easily get injured. Bannan is 36 and will be 38 at the end of his contract and he has moved to a club who are doing markedly better but he is certainly not going there as a guaranteed first choice. Squad option and a decent one at that, also.

Too much of one thing is sometimes termed being "anal" if you excuse the French.Be interesting to see how he does there.

Yes I know there is another championship thread for transfers but just felt highlighting this particular one because of the man's performances against us for Sheffield Wednesday. And at 36 years of age also.

Millwall very firmly in the play off race and signing a 36 year old on a fairly long term contract for Barry Bannans age.

Do we think Rangers missed a trick here and is going against the model in terms of transfers, sometimes worth breaking.

Think its probably an excellent deal myself. Hardly had any injury troubles in ten seasons. We always seem to sign younger players but all really with injury prone written underneath their player profiles !!!

Ten seasons at Wednesday - seven seasons nearly ever present, three seasons averaging thirty league games.

Below what it means to the guy leaving his football club.

Well now they are saying he has picked up a knock.

The comms team have done this many many times with players over the last couple of seasons.

i dont trust the timelines they give for injuries ie quite often its a smokescreen and not the total truth.

i dont trust the club on these messages - they quite often treat the fans like fools over all this - so far.

If you want to believe everything the club put out as fact, thats absolutely your choice - i unfortunately am sceptical due to past untruths
When most of their outputs turn out to be one hundred percent correct, i am afraid, i will treat such press releases with a large dose of salt...

A nice guy who happens to have quite a few more pennies than most in the bank !!

Agents / Estate Agents all done for the love of money and they will say anything to get the deal. The more likeable they are, the greater their ability to secure for themselves a much higher rate of commission.Ie his likeability is a ruse for upping the rates.

Its all about the money. They are ultimately sales people which involves being economical with the truth, but in a nice way, to enable more dosh coming their way.

Not a criticism, its simply the way it is.

Or is your mate having to queue up at the local foodbank....

Apparently, though being reassessed on FRIDAY.

Call me an old cynic, but i think this statement fed to WLS from the club has potentially not an ounce of credibility.

Think its been said for either reasons such as ;

1. He is not considered match ready, as yet.
2. He is only good enough currently for the development squad.
3. There are better options for the bench.
4. We want to keep Coventry guessing - otherwise they may focus more or less on their defence facing Obikwu and his known skills to them.
5. We have seen multiple times, untruths being put out by the club, ie Chair back in December, the many muscle strains of Taylor Richards... etc.

Its the part of Mr Nourrys reign that i and most others are most critical - cant see any real reasons to keep real information in house ie what given advantages would this achieve anyhow.

If its true and another muscle injury and attained during training sessions would greatly question the sports performance and data team need to re evaluate how they do things - as its currently extremely poor.....

But ok will throw off the old cynic mask and say "Thats a shame !!!!!"

Definitely most odd.

But if some kind of strange deal done behind the scenes with an agent so both ourselves and themselves both benefit makes sense.

Because from a footballing perspective, have yet to see any evidence that any of these signings will be no more than bit part players even in a couple of seasons time, so is it perhaps seen that we make a small profit on all, in the future.

As, currently the model with this particular strategy gives very little evidence that these players are being bought as future championship level players at all, even if one comes off, which can't see as yet myself.

Tbf, i would not be basing any opinions i have of him on his character, personality type or whether he is the sort of man, i would like as a mate. I think a couple on here are more negatively assessing the man with this in the forefront of their minds.

Recruitment has been promising and we seem to be slowly improving and our squad is decent in terms of depth. Youth and development is on the up for me. Manager recruitment for me is evolving and improving. Options to cover injuries, are quickly acted on, and am sure we have a few prospective irons in the fire, just in case. In game management has often been lacking and requires work.

I do actually think his ultimate aim is for the Premier League and a stadium that helps self finance the ever changing demands and qualities the squad needs. We will need a new stadium eventually and where it is maybe compromised but i do feel they will design a stadium which maintains old school stadium atmosphere, as well as providing extra income streams. And will be close as is possible to W12.

i think the fact he is on a couple of advisory boards with the council is a clever move. And i think his use of data and background in AI will give us advantages in future foitballing times ahead at Rangsrs. Something that had zero relevance in sport, a decade ago, but in times ahead, there is little doubt, it will have a massive influence.

Injuries and recruiting players with high percentage chances of injury hit seasons needs massive improvements but if the trajectory keeps improving there will be less chances required to take risks.

Still pretty poor on fans engagement so far. Very few forums and the ones so far have been a mess and zero proper engagement with regards to players injuries and their recovery times.

Selling players on for profits, is yet to be seen. This is the key to our current model. Have to say currently, this is where i see failings as its yet to show much at all.

But for me overall its a half decent start. We are better placed without the impact being outstanding. One hundred percent on the "nerd" scale, but a very intelligent and hard working man for me. Being nerdy is not a criticism of the guy, as i can totally see in recruitment, potential, players for a model and those with resale potential profitability, being a nerd in sports management does help.

Chtistian would not be in my close circle of friends, but my overall view is he is a decent appointment and am intrigued to see where we could get to, under his stewardship.

B- for me, so far...

7 out of 10.

And the phrase "Rome wasnt built in a day" is very apt. Lets see where this goes.

Best Comedy Sketches / Moments
at 11:02 27 Jan 2026

Lightening the mood a little on here after the injury time fiasco against Wrexham, put some all time classic comedy moments.

"FORK HANDLES" - Two Ronnies

"ALL THE RIGHT NOTES" - Morecambe and Wise

"BRACE YOURSELF RODNEY" - Only Fools and Horses

"DON'T MENTION THE WAR" - Fawlty Towers

"DEL BOY - BAR FALL" - Only Fools and Horses

"DEAD PARROT" - Monty Python

Yes they all a bit old school - can't think of too many moments from modern day comedy that either just so stupid, its funny, or so cleverly written.

Some old Beer Adverts that were based on humour.

And of course finishing with a Hamlet Cigar !!!

If Christian is very complimentary about the beast, is it because he has designs on the beauty allegedly....

Sorry for being stupidly sexist, but bet she has a rubbish personality surely...

I have avoided reading immediately after the last two results on here and have to stop reading the match threads of doom.

To be fair though, from attending recent games, have sensed more of an unjustified, in my eyes, undercurrent of anger within the QPR fans around me, and its been harder to say that i actually enjoy attending, simply because most around me seem to be showing a bit of the old "passive aggressive" about them !!!

I guess a fans forum will reflect that, at these times and without realising it myself, i wasnt enjoying being a part of this forum also.

Disagreements about football and the club will happen, but personal insults arent required, i agree. The old "count to ten" technique comes to mind.

PEACE !!!!!
