I got a good feeling Bennie could end up doing well.
He does seem a bit all arms and legs but I think he could be a handful and think he has the potential to improve and be a bit of an upgrade on our last Aussie number nine....

West Ham were unlucky tonight.
Watched the second half, very unlucky offside but would have been a perfectly good goal without it. Forest immediately equalised with a slightly lucky header and then got a pen right at the end that again without VAR wasn't seen.
Think this result was massive in their season. For a short time they were two nil up and just a point behind their nearest rivals outside the relegation zone. But ended it with much worse goal difference and seven points behind their nearest rivals Forest outside the relegation zone.
Must have a massive impact on their confidence.
Did notice how poorly Bowen played as whenever I have seen them play Bowen normally carries the team on his own.
No better time to play them.

Great job being a football manager these days.
If you dont perform but you are reasonably good but nothing special, you can do so much better financially if you keep getting these long lucrative contracts that all get paid up in full even if you are sacked three months into your reign.
Football is totally messed up by insane amounts of money.
Man Utd should have stuck with David Moyes as Fergusons choice.
Ferguson was crap for four years at Man Utd before any kind of success. But no club from the premier league to a non league lower level tier will keep any manager for four years if they are simply mediocre.
Its the same in a lot of jobs now - restructures happen in corporate world all the time and many lose their jobs consistently.
No wonder half the world is messed up mentally.....
What do I or anyone else know though.
Let's see Liam leave Chelsea at the end of the season. He decides he wants a real challenge and decides to manage at local team QPR and we get promotion to the premier league, Chelsea fall into an embarrassing abyss and get a deduction of - 50 points and the hope of the cup final win playing local rivals QPR in the FA Cup final but Chelsea show their class and are despatched six nil by Queens Park Rangers - a double hattrick MASTERCLASS by Michael Frey !!!!!

He will probably do as well as previous managers and Chelsea will move him onwards in a year or so.
For me, seems a risky appointment by them and not their usual type appointment.
Chelsea,these days to me, its irrelevant.
They are a club, we won't ever be competing with again, anytime soon and they are up and down and just about clinging on to being a big club in terms of performances but not in the top three or four.
We certainly have no rivalry with them for many years due to finances, so as said they are an irrelevance to us.
Even if he performs well, he will inevitably be sacked.

Great shame re Burrell, particularly as I would have hoped he could have had a run out against West Ham in the cup, but sadly inevitable in the end, regards him picking up an injury. Where was our sports science and protecting a player at being overplayed here. The advice of our performance Director, Ben Williams seems to have been bypassed regards Rumarn, simply because he was too important a player for us, in games.
Certainly was overplayed.
As you say Brian regards the not playing of Kolli, whether he was injured throughout or not selected for alternative reasons, we won't be told. Clubs can be very economical with the truth on such occasions and I guess can understand that in certain circumstances as you intimate also.
I know a few on here, who have considered themselves in the know, alleged they had first hand knowledge of a disagreement between Kolli and Ben Williams in the club canteen, where Kolli argued with Williams, where Williams was reported by some on here to say, whilst I am here, you won't get an opportunity to play here.
Now, whether this was allegations not backed up by fact, or indeed was true, in reality such an incident should have zero bearing on whether a player is selected or not, but there was a few on here, that were very vociferous about this, and said it was the reality of the situation.
Whether this happened or not, I can't believe at all, that this had any bearing on Kolli's non selection. If it did, then we are very amateurish in our running of our club. Any workplace, employees clash inevitably on occasions, and its then up to the management and others to all work together to minimise such impacts and resolve it as best as it can be, so that all colleagues perform as best they can, and a few words in the heat of the moment, can be forgotten about, everyone shakes hands and people move on.
Although, its clear, there must be some reason Rayan was not selected over Frey in recent times, but its unlikely we will ever know.
Anyhow, am glad he got on the pitch and pleased for him, he took his chances.

He is another trier.
Am not sure myself whether centre defensive midfield will be where he ends up. Could be in a more advanced position.
There is definitely a space up for grabs in this team and the very fact he has applied himself as best he can, wherever he has been instructed to play.
Am hopeful Harvey Vale will also develop similarly to Morgan. And again, where he could be used is also very variable. |

It does amuse me that several fans are saying, Rayan played poorly apart from the two absolutely stunning goals he scored !!!!

Glad he has had his opportunity and couldn't give a flying fig if he plays badly but scores two half chances every game. Last time I looked the only stat that is important is goals scored against goals conceded.
He contributed in defence and had two moments of magic and the very fact he had two or three other opportunities which he messed up, but its a positive, he was in the right place to have those other opportunities also.
Some here are suggesting overall he was very poor.
Give us that level of mediocrity every game Rayan and well that certainly is OK by me. Makes the selection of Frey ahead of him, hard to understand and suggests perhaps all was not quite right behind the scenes.....
But for me, glad for him. Shame for Rumarn as away at West Ham is a shop window opportunity. [Post edited 4 Jan 16:45]

i dont use the ignore button myself and try my best not to rise to the bait. Getting better at that as get older, but when i have, have got myself all tangled up.
Anyhow, people only change if they want to, or feel they need to.
Regards Smythie, probably on the bench today for me, but if he gets on or is playing, hope he gets an extra cheer from all of us. He has been here a long time and will be continuing for a little while longer and good on him. A very likeable player for me and if he was at my workplace, sort of bloke, i would like as a mate too.

The guy is a genius as far as darts goes.
Was thinking Taylor won around 18 world titles and played till he was around mid 50s. At this rate, Littler could play 35 more times minimum and could win most years. Maybe life will get in the way and he will get married, have kids and get a full time job.
Only joking !!!
Pretty decent being a multi millionaire by the age of 18 and for playing darts too. He is a big boy though and cant say my appearance or any of my mates at his age, we all still looked like young boys...

I will front up for this one, as feel this is a must win game. Finally, I hope this is one game too far for Mr Bannan against ourselves.
But bloomin 'eck, a midday kick off.
And for the Sheffield fans to get there. One of these days, we will all have to get to the ground immediately after our full english breakfast. Its hard to get into a game so early in the day and think actually it generally shows similar for all players also.
Despite that, I do believe we will win comfortably, three nil, perhaps. But if its a loss, the natives will certainly be getting restless and a happy new year, it won't be.
So for me, a three nil win - Burrell with two and Cook with the other !!!
Don't want to consider any other possible outcomes !!

Its usually the young ones that are doing the naughty teenage boy thing..Still not good but you could put it down to young boys wanting to appear big or finding it funny.
Regards calling a linesmen that in a game, for me, i personally think that would put the linos back up and any 50/ 50 situations likely to go in favour of the oppostion, as a consequence. |
