I once got robbed by a monkey whilst playing golf.
We stayed at Sun City in South Africa during the World Cup in 2010. Played one of the courses there, and while I was teeing off on one of the holes a monkey ran out from the trees and nicked a bottle of blue energy drink from my bag, ran back in the bushes and sat there drinking it and watching us.
Not sure if there’s anything specific in the rules about that, but I was allowed to play my tee shot again without penalty. |

Nearest pub to me is this one in Prague.

It's nothing special - pretty basic decor, and not particularly welcoming for anyone who doesn't live in the neighbourhood, but it's only 56kc for a half litre of Pilsner Urquell, which is about £1.95. A Kozel or Gambrinus - both equally as nice - will set you back just £1.40. No food, unless you count crisps and nuts.

Very early goal for us - probably a wild deflection from an otherwise wayward speculative long-range effort - that surprises everyone in the ground, followed by 80 minutes of embarrassingly one-sided football and a hatful of Bournemouth goals, each one scored with relative ease.

I live overseas, and my son is 9. Somehow he started to follow Rangers too a couple of seasons ago (I didn't really force it on him), and we watch most games together live on the QPR+ stream. We are members (just in case of a Wembley trip, of course), and I took him to a couple of games - Blackburn away, where a win would have taken us into the top two or a few hours (lost 1-0), and then last season West Brom at home when we were flying high (lost 1-0). He got into all the players, started to know all the chants, and loved it when Chair came on in the WC 3rd place play off. QPR was his team.
Since then he's started to lose interest as we just aren't fun to watch, and get beaten too easily, too often. His lack of interest has also rubbed off on me.
Recently he asked me if I'd mind if he started supporting Arsenal as well. That this didn't really bother me wasn't a surprise either. I just want him to enjoy watching football. [Post edited 3 Jan 15:11]

Maybe memory playing tricks on me, but I seem to remember it started at HT and went on all the way through second half until he was substituted off. |

Does anyone know what's included in the membership gift pack this year? My son and I are overseas member, and have to fill out customs clearance forms for this stuff, which includes having to list what's inside.

When I lived in West Hampstead me and my flatmate used to have a celeb spot game classified by quality of celeb (A-C), and level engagement (interactive or not), and activity (ironic, mundane). For example, Bob Hoskins holding the door of a newsagent open for you; Interactive mundane B.
Over the years I saw Rachel Stevens of S-Club 7 filling up her car on Finchley Road, Baby Spice locking eyes with me (unintentionally) on Hampstead High Street, Liam Gallagher and Nicole from All Saints in the chippy on West End Lane, Steven Fry at the carwash by the West Hampstead tube station in his black cab, Jamie Oliver at the Bar in the Holly Bush pub.
Favorite (non-interactive) brush with celeb was in Greenwich Village, New York on a Sunday afternoon around 1998. Waiting for the green light to cross the street and David Bowie and Iman were on the opposite side. When it turned green they crossed the road and nobody on our side moved - we all just stared. |

Lived in Czech Rep for 17 years now. Brno has improved a lot in that time and as someone else suggests is a big student town with pretty good nightlife and plenty to fill a couple of days with - any longer though and it will get repetitive.
They shouldn't write off Bratislava though - bit more polished than Brno, and also a capital city, and 30 mins in a taxi from Vienna for another option for flying home. Been there many times, most memorable of which was July 2005 when I went for a quick business trip, and by coincidence Celtic played Artmedia Bratislava that night in a champions league qualifier. They lost 5-0 and the city was bouncing afterwards. |

I live and work in Munich these days so only make a handful games a season, but I flew back for the Millwall game and bought AKTRS and read your piece on the Milk Cup Final debacle. You really made my day when I read that you remembered the banner! |

Nice to see someone remembers my "we made Chelsea Neill, we Byrned Liverpool, and we're sending Oxford down the Bannister" banner after all these year! I was 12 in 1986 and spent all week colouring that in on a bedsheet which we stapled to bamboo sticks. My mum still has it in her garage.
Don't remember much of the game other than a firecracker went off in the Oxford end just before they scored so at least I missed one of the goals. The only highlight of the whole sorry affair of that final was that a photo of my banner got in the Spurs programme the week after on the centre spread of "Wembley Memories" (I still have that programme too). Somehow the editor managed to muster up five other photos worthy of remembering, one of which I think was Leroy Rosenior winning a header, which shows you how hard it was to find any highlights.
I used to do England away for many years with two Oxford fans in the 90s and 00s and that game is all they ever go on about. |

Hi,
I've used this site for ages but never posted. I saw your message - I lived in Prague for 6 years and also married a local so thought I would help you out.
If you haven’t been to Prague before then one of the best ways of seeing as many of the tourist sights as possible is to take the number 22 tram from Národnà tÅ™Ãda in the direction of PohoÅ™elec; it'll cost you a quid and follows a scenic route passing by the National Theater and through Malá Strana (Lesser Town) up to Prague Castle with some stunning views along the way. Get off at Prague Castle (pražský hrad tram stop) and after a wander around the castle area you should walk down through the cobbled streets of Malá Strana and across Charles Bridge (Karlův most) and then continue into Old Town Square (StaromÄ›stské námÄ›stÃ) to get a flavour of all of the oldest part of the city in 3 hours. There are loads of little bars on the way down if you want to make it into a bit of a pub crawl.
For taxis, try only to use AAA taxis (they are bright yellow) and they won't rip you off. otherwise you can get everywhere on public transport easily - Prague is a small city.
If you want a non-tourist night out head to the area across the river called Andel (or sometime called Smichov) and there are loads of good restaurants and bars hidden around there where it's still less than a pound a pint. Best beer by a mile is Gambrinus (in my opinion) - almost hangover free no matter how much you drink.
If you want to go out late, head for the street Dlouha in the centre and you'll find loads of bars and restaurants around that area. Avoid Wenceslas Square at night as you'll just get hassle.
