 | Forum Reply | 5 Things About The Trip To Pompey at 18:12 27 Jan 2026
1. 8am arrival for a 9am departure was annoying, can't remember what we had to do last time we had the bubble in 2011. Back then we boarded in Bursledon, were there other boarding locations? 2. Surprisingly thought the away end had a bit of an upgrade since 2019 less dingy but very tight out the back. Must say the pie was very good! 3. Didn't see AA reaction to our goal, but someone had to be smart and stay in Pompey's half. If they all ran back to celebrate Pompey could've restarted. 4. I didn't think they created the loudest of atmospheres, stuck to a couple of their songs with short verses. We can't expect them to remember too many words can we? 5. It was good to see our players with a bit of passion. THB, Downes, Stephens & Bree I thought all showed what we wanted to see. Correct me if I'm wrong, we haven't had a red card all season? Not that we want to see our players sent off, but we don't see the passion of - Benali, Claus, Svensson, Marsden to name a few. I know it's a different game now but in the Championship more likely to get away with things. [Post edited 27 Jan 18:13]

In what game did Quarshie show potential, did I miss this game? |

I echo this, also when you watch him closely he takes far too many touches slowing us down. Doesn't affect play at either end much to be honest, a good player should be good at at least one of these. |

This club has accepted mediocrity. We aren’t going up this season and it’s starting to feel like the club are fine with that. Too many “maybe Championship-quality” players. Too many projects. No spine. No leaders. No standards. If the club actually wants to progress, we need: An inspirational captain, a true leader who grabs the game and players by the scruff of the neck - should be the first name on the team sheet A dominant, authorative, presence of a goalkeeper Commanding body on the line centre-backs, not shirkers with stinking attitudes Centre midfielders who control and dominate going forwards & backwards And a solid out and out dominant striker who scores goals, holds the ball up getting us up the pitch & brings others into play As a fan, I wouldn't be so bothered if the players aren't quite good enough but gave it 100% game in game out but we don't see that. Where's the captain demanding & driving these standards? |

Quarshie hasn't shown capabilities to play alongside 2 other centre backs, what makes you think he would prosper in a 2 man CB pairing? |
 | Forum Reply | Why Still 5 at the back?! at 19:53 27 Sep 2025
It’s not working tho is it? Lots of attacking options but still very passive and cautious. Fellows showed good glimpses going forward today, surprised he went off. |

Still can’t understand why we are persisting with 5 at the back? Seems pointless when no team in this league seem like world beaters? We lack that extra body going forward it is fairly obvious to see. |

Hate to say it, thought the atmosphere was dreadful for a derby game. Doesn’t help the away fans are seated next to fans sat on their hands. Also doesn’t help the dreadful football especially in the first half. Can someone explain how lumping a ball to one of the smallest players on the pitch makes any sense to anybody? |
 | Forum Thread | South Coast Derby – Who brings the passion? at 18:10 5 Sep 2025
Out of the current crop of players, who do you think can bring the passion next Sunday? Only players who were part of either squad in the last game down at Fratton Park were Jack Stephens & Alex McCarthy. A few skates chirping on about them signing the scrote “Chavlin” and how he is looking to do us over. All I remember is him sprinting from the bench right across the pitch to celebrate after being subbed off when Ipswich scored the winner against us in 2024 at Portman Road. |
