Club gives Starmer Ā£2000?
at 09:08 22 Sep 2024

Really? Youā€™re holding out Wilson as a prime example? Did you sleep through Covid , sending old folks with Covid into nursing homes, partygate, the awarding of millions in taxpayers money to their friends for PPE that was useless? I think that tops anything the Wilson government did by a country mile.

Oh and letā€™s not forget Matt Hancock thinking of a bogus new variant to threaten us with - a touch of class that was!

As for Starmer - heā€™s corrupt as hell. But never mind hospitality or clothes donations - how much money is a certain Middle Eastern country paying him for his complicity in their ā€œmilitary endeavoursā€ both domestically and further afield? Thatā€™s the question that should be asked.

We have more than a potential goal scorer on the bench who didnā€™t even make it on to the pitch yesterday. All because Williams tactics including the pedestrian midfield canā€™t provide quick enough forward ball for him. Iā€™m amazed how some can write off a player considered good enough to play in the Euros after a manager with no tactical nous canā€™t be bothered to get the team playing to his (and Eomā€™s , Ronaldā€™s and any other attacking players) strengths.

Perhaps with that approach we would kill teams off rather than settling for 60 minutes of biting nails. All of our players need to introduce a ruthlessness into their game.

Linnington still owes us from the league cup debacle at home against Scunthorpe in 2009. Iā€™ll never forget that game

When I read that I just knew he was just here to wind people up with ridiculous ideas. Either that or it was Grimes himself of course

Canā€™t you just give credit where creditā€™s due rather than just assume his motivation is to leave asap?

I think we should keep our back four intact and instead get quick ball to the wings from CM . The reason why our full backs end up next to our wingers half the time is that the move broke down and the wingers have nowhere to go and no one to pass to.

I think we missed a trick with Bellamy - thatā€™s exactly what we want to see here - the ability to turn defence into attack quickly.

When we play so slowly it takes all the heat out of any attack - giving our fast wide players no chance of getting in behind and hurting the opposition.

Perhaps Luke has been conditioned into this blindly trying the same thing because the notebooks say it works when everyone else sees the total opposite.

This could be the making of him as a manager - tell them to keep a solid defensive shape but encourage the midfield to try the occasional over the top ball and risky pass - if they donā€™t come off defend, win the ball back and try again.

We have players that should be sitting far higher in the table he just needs to take the handcuffs off them. Maybe Grimes will force me to eat my words when the true version of himself starts dominating games.

Question is - will Luke be brave enough to try it? If we try it and lose but there are signs it will work he should. We are a patient fan base and if we can see light at the end of the tunnel we will support him.

Iā€™m beginning to think Williams is as bad as Martin - incapable of picking the right players in the right roles due to blindness caused by his coaching by numbers ā€œphilosophy ā€œ.
