Is It One Rule For Players And One For Referee's
at 12:51:51

Every week we seem to have referees making the wrong decisions. Here's a simple suggestion that I believe would help. I know people will laugh at this, but I have always felt that football would benefit from having four linesmen, one for each quarter of the pitch. It would help to take away "blind spots," as there would always be a linesman close to any incident. Referees would obviously still be in charge, but should be encouraged to consult with their linesmen when in doubt. I appreciate that most people will say you can't do that, but why not?

Saints Youth Destroy Pompey
at 10:19:05

I appreciate that Rupert Lowe isn't the most popular name to us Saint's fans, but as you highlighted in your article, we should at least acknowledge and appreciate his vision in restructuring the Saint's academy, making it what it is today, one of the very best football academies in Europe.

Saints V Manchester City The Verdict
at 12:47:27

Awesome Saints performance against Man City, and very proud to be a Saints fan. But we didn't just beat Man City, not for the first time the referee was playing against us too. Take the Jay Rodriguez stonewall penalty we didn't get, we all know that if Jay had been wearing a city shirt, it would have been a penalty. Fact! Referees are 60/40 biased in favor of the big clubs, I've watched 4 or 5 matches at St Mary's this year where this has clearly been the case. Several people have suggested that MotD should start a referee's performance league table, based on their performance and decisions. Sounds like a great idea to me.

Saints V Newcastle The Verdict
at 17:47:57

Great Saints team performance against Newcastle. The confidence has returned and we're finally getting the results we deserve. Everyone played well but Gaston's ability shone through and had a positive effect on the whole team. I'm concerned about the referee's performances over the last few home matches, some of the decisions have been diobolical to say the least!

100% Support For The Team Nothing Less
at 11:47:30

Absolutely agree Nick. The players need to give 100%, and so do we as Saints supporters! I'm really proud of the way that Saints fans have backed Nigel Adkins, and I've got a good feeling about today! C.O.Y.R.

Just wanted to say "Thanks Nick" for The Ugly Inside. I bet it must feel like a thankless task at times, but I'm sure that your pragmatic view is greatly appreciated by many of us Saints fans. Yours is always one of the first Saints sites I read. Keep up the good work.

Great Pompey Myths Debunked. No 2 Pompey Are The Club With All The History
at 15:16:55

I'm really proud to have been a Saints fan, through good and bad, for over 40 years, I'm proud of our achievements and of our reputation. Portsmouth fans seem to lack something, and appear to take it out on us. They're always going on about what great fans they are, but you only need to look at their attendances to see that it's just not true! The difference is we let our actions speak for themselves, we don't need to keep telling everyone how great we are!

Saints Appeal To Fans To Show Their Support
at 16:33:53

I'm a bit surprised that attendances haven't been a bit higher, I'm a season ticket holder and have a sixty mile round trip from Bournemouth each game. Times are difficult finacially at the moment, which I'm sure plays a part, but apart from our recent blip, the football's been fantastic and we haven't been out of the top two all season. So I think Saints are right to encourage more support.

Saints V Cardiff The Verdict
at 11:11:11

A massive improovement over the Leicester performance, mainly because Lambert was back! Had we have had the two penalties we deserved we would have won, the ref was dreadful at times. West Ham losing was also a huge bonus. Very impressed with Puncheon and Tadanari Lee. Confident that with the addition of Billy Sharp, and our key players back that we'll soon be back on track.

Lambert Looks To End Drought
at 13:16:33

Although Rickie's not been scoring, his contribution and assists has been immense. Rickie would be sorely missed if injured. I think I'm right in saying that's he only missed a couple of games through injury, which is amazing considering the battering he takes.

Saints to enter the loan market?

BOURNEMOTH'S TURNING RED & WHITE!!!
Being a lifelong Saints fan & season ticket holder living in Bournemouth, it's great to see so many Saints shirts, Saints car stickers, and Saints leisurewear being worn in the area. I can honestly say, I see more Saints fans proudly wearing their colours than B'mth at the moment, and not a Pompey shirt in sight! C.O.Y.R.

Tribute Or Snub.?
at 10:02:00

I too was a bit surprised by the lower than expected attendance, four of us travelled from Bournemouth and really enjoyed the afternoon, the good natured banter with the dozen or so German fans was good fun, it's what makes me proud to be a Saints fan, and makes Saints a special club. You probably have to put the attendance partly down to the recession, but it was still a bit dissapointing. Pricing might need adjusting, especially for the kids, but didn't appear excessive to me.

Now Is The Time To Get Behind Saints
at 10:56:41

Agree with you Nick!
It's definately time for ALL Saints Fans to do their bit and get behind the team in the promotion run in. I know things are difficult financially at the moment but there should be 25,000 to 30,000 at all our remaining home matches! We still have the biggest fan base on the south coast! C.O.Y.R.

James Beattie Set To Return To Saints ?
at 12:28:45

I would like to see Kevin Phillips back with us next season, he's always insisted that he was misquoted and didn't ever say he didn't want to play for us. He just seems to have a knack for scoring vital goals. He's a bit like David Connolly but seems to be fairly injury free. No disrespect to David Connolly intended.
