Shout out for Merthyr today, Merthyr won and Totten lost, I think Merthyr are 9 points clear of Totten now, Merthyr have 6 games left and Totten 7 games left. |

Big win for Wrexham against Stockport, it might be down to a two horse race now for the second automatic promotion spot with Stockport and Charlton both losing, although it might still be slight advantage to Wycombe who have loads more home games left compared to Wrexham and they have a much better goal difference as well but there is not much in it now between the two with Wrexham having played the top teams. |

Making rich farmers (because it's only rich farmers it effects) pay IH tax is only treating them the same as other people. It's not the job of the government to bail out private companies correct but they could have nationalised Port Talbot steelworks or taken a share in the works if they agreed to keeping the furnaces, as it was of national importance, now apart from 2 smaller blast furnaces in Scunthorpe we can't make virgin steel and therefore things like ships and tanks etc without buying steel or the finished product from abroad as the quality of the steel arc furnaces make is not as good as what blast furnaces make at this present time. |

The country is in a mess, services failing, infrastructure failing, population ill, foodbanks in nearly every town. As regards the sub, I'm sure that was the very sub that nearly bombed itself firing an unarmed nuclear missile instead of going thousands of miles it went up just a few feet and nearly landed back on them but that was an improvement on the previous test when we nearly took out the USA, the missile went in totally the wrong direction and nearly destroyed America, we haven't fired a successful unarmed nuclear missile for over a decade as far as I know. Russia must be laughing at us and thinking we are more likely to blow ourselves up than them. |

No, if taxes were raised on the rich that would cover the small percentage of rich that might leave and leave a surplus so other people might even pay less. |

Apparently the tax level in the UK is lower than lots of other advanced countries. I've seen it said that the very rich in the UK pay an effective tax rate that is lower than the average worker. Only a percentage of rich would leave if taxed and if greed is their reason for leaving then good riddance I say. |

I don't think they are doing a good job because they are not hitting the rich, they are hitting the less well off, they are doing nothing about food banks and the like, locally they did nothing to save the heavy end at Port Talbot steelworks which was of UK national importance. |

I would guess Starmer is loathed by some people because some people thought that he in effect advocated murdering innocent civilians, women and children by initially saying Israel had a right to withhold power and water from Gaza as a war tactic, not sure if he rowed back from that in the end or not, it earned him the nickname by some of Kier Starver. Him saying something awful like that and apparently he was a human rights lawyer, absolutely shocking. Also he is probably loathed because of his part in the treatment of the old and less well off people because of what he did with the winter fuel allowance and now what is likely to happen to PIP and other benefits. I personally don't like him because he is a right-wing Tory and he should not be in the Labour Party. |

Check out the wiki page on operation clockwork orange, it gives a good indication how the right wing is terrified of what they percieve to be the left (half the time they are discreding middle of the road type people, they just label them as being on the left) and how they act. |

The right wing elites tried to do a number on Harold Wilson, just shows its been going on for decades, they try to discredit and falsely label anyone seen to be on the left, they don't want to be taxed they want low tax low spend policies so they keep and grow their wealth to the detriment of ordinary people. |

The Ruskies have the bomb (and apparently a better missle defence for what its worth), that is why NATO are being careful how they tread. |

There is even a wikipedia page on it, several writers, historian, even an old Admiral have speculated people knew, if its not a well known conspiracy theory how come there are loads of articles about ?, how come I've heard of it ?, obviously it may not be true, there again it might be, but surely its got to be classed as a well known conspiracy theory ? |

Its a widely held theory that we knew, it was before i was born but some people think its possible hence the story doesnt go away, as regards America i'm just calling a spade a spade, I just don't think the Yanks are up to much that's all, they are a little bit like the English in sport overhyped. |

Just reading about what great friends Churchill and Roosevelt were and the radio speech Roosevelt gave saying basically if GB go down that America might be next and to gives us as much arms as they could as we were effectively protecting them by keeping Germany at bay. |

Oh my mistake it was Roosevelt then, whoever the Yank president was at the time. The British had an empire the sun never set on, the British had spies everywhere, Britain was the superpower going into the war not America, its plausible we knew. |

Some armies are better than others at various points in time, no slight on any individual . I always thought that the US only had the 6th biggest army at the start of the war, so I went to check in case that was the first world war i had in the back of my mind and then i seen the Portugal thing, I find it hard to believe as well, but nevertheless the point stands that the Yanks relatively speaking weren't very strong at the start of the second World War, they ended the war as a superpower but that was not the case at the start. What always interests me is the theory that not only did Churchill know about Pearl Harbour but he told Eisenhour and the attack was allowed to take place to get America into the war, we desperately needed as much help as we could get otherwise we might have lost and if we fell America might have been next as Hitler might have turned his attention on them as well as Japan, Eisenhour apparently was on the case but could not persuade their Parliament (whatever its called), so the theory is for the long term good of Britain and America it had to happen, it was very convient that half the America fleet (or whatever it was) was at sea, fancy that. |

90 years is pushing it a bit as the Yanks were very weak at the start of the second World War, just seen an article saying Portugal had a bigger army and I wouldnt necessarily say they were stronger than the Soviet Union when that was in existence, although that has been gone for quite sometime now. The Yank military have never really been very good fighters and as you point out in recent decades they didn't do very well out in Afghan or Vietnam but there again away from home against a motivated dug in home team its never easy. What America has got is weight of numbers, lots of hardware and the bomb, but they will have to think twice about threatening a fore that also has the bomb, if we are to keep the bomb in decades to come imo we need to be independent of any other power for it to be a deterant for all comers.
