Saints Reject Bid For Jack Cork

It would be madness not to play Cork at the moment. He is in the form of his life and has risen to the challenge.

I confess that I'm not a fan of VW. When the opposition has the ball he is useful to us. When he has the ball, he is a liability to us.

Cork is much more reliable and I for one would not sell him (but I would sell VW).

Saints V Arsenal The Verdict

I did fear that after Arsenal went in front (using a similar tactic to that used by Chelsea, i.e. being a bit more direct in order to expose gaps behind both full backs) that we would crumble. Good to get a goal back almost immediately though and even before Flamini was sent off, I thought that we were more likely winners.
We do lack a bit of edge up front. The young Gallagher lad had a decent league debut but the Arsenal centre backs are very experienced and not really troubled. I don't blame him for the miss. The ball came unexpectedly and at an odd height and many more experienced strikers would have missed as well.
The next few league matches are against teams below us and it would be nice to think that we can play against them as we did against Arsenal and pick up 8 or so points in February.

Saints Can Achieve Mathematical Survival This Weekend !

We've all seen Saints snatch defeat from the jaws of victory and until we have another 4 to 6 points, I'm being cautious.

My predictions say that any one of Villa, Wigan, Stoke or Sunderland could go down with Harry (it wasn't me driving officer) Redknapp and Nigel A.

Personally I would not be sorry to see any of them go. However I don't really want a pumped up Stoke at our place needing to win to stay up.

Saints Player Of The Year - The Candidates

Got to be Morgan. He is the beating heart of the team. Always on hand to take the ball off somebody in trouble - getting a toe in when it matters - driving forwards - scoring the odd goal.

Shaw will have his time. Cork can get a bit flustered. Lambert - is super but not this year. J Rod - not seen enough of him. Centre backs - too inconsistent. Llalana - been injured.
