Good so far, only watched a couple of episodes. Saw the original Danish series a few years ago on the Beeb 4 Saturday night Scandi slot. It was a lot darker.
If the kids and teens need orchestrating then good luck but us old gits and plebs are happy to sit and watch the game and swear a lot at the players, management and officials. Occasionally jumping up when we score.
First beer was from a quart bottle of Truman's brown ale a friend (he looked older than the rest of us) got from the offy at the Rising Sun, Harlesden Road, Willesden. When I could pass for 18 drank light and bitter in the Rising Sun. The odd Saturday evening we'd frequent the pubs up at Hampstead Heath and finish up in the Galtymore, Cricklewood Broadway where the bar stayed open until 2 in the morning.
St Andrews Infants school, Belton Road, Willesden. St Andrews Junior schools, St Andrews Road, Willesden. John Kelly Secondary Modern school, Crest Road, Neasden.
So far as I know only the infant school survives with a change of name to St Andrews and St Francis.
My Grandad used to take me to see Willesden FC at the stadium (mid 50s). Seem to recall there was talk years ago (60s?) about moving there but, if memory serves, it was dropped as there were no proper transport links. Probably many other reasons too. In any case King Eddies has been completely remodelled since then.
Stranger things have happened. In 2003/4 Palace were 19th in the then 1st Division when Dowie took over and finished 6th in 2004 beating Wet Spam in the play off final. Mind you they were relegated from the Prem the following season.
Who knows if we have a similar second half of the season as last season? I'll wake up from this dream, give me a minute.
