Shelvey To Get England Call Saturday, 29th Aug 2015 22:45 by Planet Swans (follow us on Twitter @swansnews) The early reports in the Sunday newspapers are stating that Jonjo Shelvey WILL be included in Roy Hodgson's England squad for the qualifiers against San Marino and Switzerland. Shelvey has been heavily linked with a recall to the international squad and when Hodgson makes the official announcement tomorrow it is now expected that Shelvey's name will be in there and he is in line potentially for a first start. The Mail reports that Hodgson will play Michael Carrick and James Milner in central midfield for the clash against San Marino, with Jack Wilshere out with an ankle injury and Jordan Henderson a major doubt with a foot problem. Henderson’s Anfield team-mate, Adam Lallana, is also a doubt with a thigh injury. Shelvey has only one England cap at the moment - against San Marino in 2012 - but he is expected to add to that tally in the two games and it is just reward for the work that he has put into his game this year after some very public criticism from Garry Monk at the end of last year. England play San Marino in Serravalle on Friday evening and Switzerland at Wembley on Tuesday 8 September. Depending on results elsewhere two wins could confirm qualification for the finals in France next summer.
