Train Chaos Again For Bournemouth Game
Friday, 26th Apr 2019 13:04

There doesn't seem to be a weekend without a railway line or two being closed at the weekend for a Saints game and sadly this weekend is no exception.

The good news for Bournemouth fans is that the line across the New Forest to Bournemouth is open so their journey's will be uninterrupted, as will any supporters coming from the Salisbury or Portsmouth directions.

However the track between Eastleigh and Southampton Central will be closed and a replacement bus service will be in operation throughout the day in both directions thus adding around 20 minutes to the journey time, depending on the train it is between 1 hr 46 mins and 1hr 51 mins taking into account the delays for the bus service.

Those coming from London could use the hourly service that runs between Waterloo and Southampton via Guildford, Havant and Fareham etc and are being advised to do so, however with a journey time of 1hr 55 mins its slightly slower than the fastest train via Eastleigh even taking into account the replacement bus service.

Once again chaos will ensue .

It should also be noted that it will be even worse on Sunday 12th when we take on Huddersfield in the final day of the season Sunday 12th May.

On that day the lines will be shut between Basingstoke and Eastleigh, meaning that it will be replacement bus services to all points between Basingstoke and Southampton Central.
