Jake Eastwood Returns
Friday, 13th Jan 2023 09:39 by Chaff

Rochdale have made their first January signing in the form of goalkeeper Jake Eastwood on loan from Sheffield United.

Eastwood played two games at the end of last season for Rochdale as he came in on an emergency loan with Jay Lynch and Joel Coleman both being injured I seem to recall. Jake was in net for the 4-3 defeat to Bristol Rovers at home and the 2-0 away win at Newport on the last day of the season.

The 26-year-old keeper has been at Sheffield United all his career but has had more loans than RBS in that time having had spells at Sheffield FC, Gainsborough Trinity, Chesterfield, Scunthorpe United, Kilmarnock, Grimsby Town, Portsmouith, Rochdale and most recently, Ross County.

The signing of Eastwood certainly provides a bit more competition between the sticks with Cieran Slicker having gone back to Manchester City, leaving just Brad Kelly and youth teamers Ellis Craven and Lennon MacLorg as the goalkeeping options.

Welcome back Jake.
