It was a late night for the Dale on Transfer Deadline Day but there are still questions regarding further potential deals.

At the time of writing, which is afternoon of the day after deadline day, we are still awaiting news on one outgoing transfer and potentially one incoming as well.

Ethan Brierley had spent a period of January on trial at Sheffield United, but the Blades are under a transfer embargo and seemingly couldn’t sort a deal out for the Dale midfielder. It does seem however that another Championship side stepped in to snatch Brierley at the last minute. Or did they? Ethan has been pictured holding a Blackburn Rovers shirt late last night but according to the local press around Lancashire, the deal is subject to being confirmed by the EFL. There are worries that the deal was not actually processed in time.

There was also late rumours circulating about Rochdale managing to sign FC United striker Regan Linney who is the Northern Premier League top scorer. Linney scored 38 goals in 2022 with 22 assists.

Nothing has been confirmed by either party so I guess we’ll have to wait and see, or not see, so to speak.
