Dale’s second home game in the National League has again had us referring to Google and elsewhere to find something out about Saturday’s referee JASON RICHARDSON.

Based in Ruislip, Middlesex, it will be a long trip north for Mr Richardson who is in his second season refereeing in the fifth tier.

In May 2022 he refereed the National League South play-off final between Dorking and Ebbsfleet, much to the chagrin of Ebbsfleet, who tried to get the appointment changed after some controversy in the teams’ previous league meeting, which Jason also officiated.

Last season saw him referee 14 National League games (63 yellow cards, 2 reds) and this campaign started with Richardson in the middle at Woking v Altrincham last weekend.
