Murray goes to Brighton
Murray goes to Brighton

We need a new logo for the site as Glenn Murray has followed in the footsteps of Jason Peake and signed for Brighton and Hove Albion.

It would appear that we've received a fee of £300,000 for his services, some of which is dependent on appearances, and some of which will no doubt be heading North to Carlisle as part of a sell on clause.

He was first linked with Brighton a couple of weeks ago, with the suggestion that £200,000 might secure his services in a week where Dale fans were suffering from a bit of a wobble following the defeat to Lincoln.

But the move has now gone through, and the former Carlisle striker heads to the South Coast to take up his place in Sussex. Murray has been in sparkling form recently, with a glut of goals to his name.

It's not worth raking up all the quotes from the past fortnight which have said that we're not selling anyone and that Murray wasn't going to Brighton. Every player has his price, and Murray has been sold at a price which suited Rochdale AFC.

Dale are left with a week now until the end of the transfer window, but when that closes, it won't preclude us signing players on loan with a view to a permanent transfer, so perhaps there isn't the mass panic to get anyone in.

A full look back at Murray's time with Dale will appear in the next few days.
