Tutonda Becomes Signing Number Five Thursday, 3rd Jul 2025 18:28 by Chaff Dale have made their fifth summer signing in the form of left-sided defender David Tutonda. The 29-year-old joins Rochdale on an initial one-year deal having jumped ship from the recently relegated and much troubled Morecambe and brings a wealth of experience with him having made over 300 appearances in his career so far. He started out at Cardiff as an academy player and had loan spells at both Newport County and York City before joining League Two Barnet for whom he made 113 appearances. After a successful trial, he joined League One Bristol Rovers on a 2-year-deal but left after a year having played 20 games for the Gas. Gillingham was the next stop for the Congolese-born player in League One and then League Two when the Gills were relegated and despite being offered a new contract, he left Priestfield having played 63 games to link up with Morecambe. Despite having a year left on his deal at Morecambe, he has joined up with Dale having played 89 games for the Shrimps, including 42 last season when they were relegated. Welcome aboard David.
