Rochdale have completed the signing of defender Sam Sherring on a one-year deal.

The 26-year-old reunites with Head Coach Ian Watson and assistant Carl Magnay after previously working with the pair at MK Dons.

Sherring came through Bournemouth's academy before loan spells with Weymouth and Torquay United. He later played in the EFL with Accrington Stanley and Cambridge United, helping Northampton Town win promotion to League One before making almost 100 appearances across two seasons. He spent last season on loan at Cheltenham Town before leaving MK Dons this summer.

The experienced defender becomes Rochdale's latest summer signing as Watson continues to strengthen his squad ahead of the new campaign.
