We did our best against a good team. Although we could have snatched a draw Boro could have had a couple more but for fine keeping from Charles. No reason for despair but it gives us a clear picture of the challenge of getting into the top spots in this division.

I think our initial setup and team were all wrong. This is a manager/tactical failure. They were through the back three with through balls and we had about five warnings of how the goal would come and did nothing to counter that. Midfield was solid but they just played over them. Why don't we at least realise quicker when what we are doing is not working and adapt? 3-5-2? really? 'Mostly off-side' Kone should have been a sub too. He needed the confidence of a good performance which I get, but he's had his chances already to impress.
We are better than we have shown against Bolton (murderous to watch) and 'boro.
Having said all that, if the shots went in more often we'd have 4 more points and be sitting pretty. Hoping the team stop slashing it wide or over the bar soon. So a hope based on potential rather than on actual points. I miss the brilliant passing we demonstrated in pre-season
