Hi fellow R's fans!
First time on here....I don't usually frequent forums, but, if I do, they have to be 'the best'.....so that's why I'm here!
A little background. My first game was Arsenal at home in 1976. I have held a season ticket on occasion in between playing amateur football (mainly for British Airways....have played with Martin Francis & Peter Downes!) and then over the last 16 years have been singing in a tribute band, the last 6 years in a band in Germany, which pretty much rules a lot of Saturday home games out. But, I try to go to as many games home & away as humanly possible. My only son, is also an R. Here is is something amusing. I went to the 86 Milk Cup Final. Rangers lost. I couldn't make the Sheff Wed game at Hillsborough when we got promoted. The game against Watford when we won 2-0 and regained our place in the Premier League, I was on a plane bound for Lanzarote. The Leeds game where we lifted the trophy, I was in Lanzarote. The Man City game where we lost, I was on a plane coming back from Germany. And yes, you guessed it, the Play Off Final.....I was in Sasbach, Germany for a show. I get the feeling that every time Rangers need a positive outcome, I should be nowhere near the ground!!

Welcome! Please state favourite cheese.
You will then be given your membership card and invited to join a group meltdown over season ticket prices and/or whether the new kit decision is an inspired business move, or the most heinous thing done to supporters in the last 10 years.

Warning: please do not attempt to take moderate viewpoints, this will not be tolerated.

Hoopstilidie - thanking you.........I've always sung in AC/DC tribute bands......the two in the UK were Dirty DC & Live Wire. The German one is called Barock.

Welcome. Applewood smoked cheddar? How are you with Manchego? I was at that Arsenal game in April '76.

Jamois - Manchego is so-so.....Applewood is much better IMHO. I remember the programme cover had a picture of Gerry Francis taking a penalty.........and me thinking, 'I hope Jimmy Rimmer hasn't looked at that!' But Gerry scored anyway!

The only band I've seen(so far) that were near(ish) to the original thing is the Frank Zappa tribute band The Muffin Men.

Friend of mine is the singer in a Green Day tribute, Green Date. They're superb and Billie-Joe has been known to turn up and watch them himself.
As for Live/Wire I saw an ad for them appearing in Nottingham last week.

Ringo Starr ate my hamper.

You shall be known as Mr Bean.

On the subject of tribute bands I saw the Hamsters a few times who were bloody excellent on the Hendrix and ZZ Top covers, the singer guitarist was exceptional.

My Father had a profound influence on me, he was a lunatic.

For anyone here at my 50th, I thought we did 'Bad Boy Boogie' pretty well.

Much prefer the Bon Scott tunes, which are more enjoyable.

Must be pretty difficult to screech like Brian Johnson too.

Nearly Dan, and Bravado, the Rush cover band, are the best I have seen. Of course these days you get arena tributes, like Floyd and Genesis which is like listening to the records without the emotion of seeing the real thing.

In the UK, Bon is the hero, so to speak.....but in Germany, Brian is the main man.
I suppose it is difficult to replicate that style, but, I don't tend to think about it too much....it just kinda happens....lol!
