He had man of match in final too. Just saying

He's not been the same player since his baby arrived. Restless nights with baby? He'll always be one of my favourites. Footballers get problems at home too. Easier said than done to not bring your problems to the pitch. Having said that it may be something else completely. Judging by his form today, all he needed was a fresh challenge.

Nathan on 20:50 - Sep 13 by shandyjack | the only thing i can think of it biting us was when we had a mini injury crisis in midfield and we didn't know what his recall clause was. But we certainly benefitted by loaning him out in the end, went away a decent PL player and returned a top one after getting more game time for Sunderland than he would have for us |
This. | |

Loaning Dyer to Leicester just cost Villa a point. Hurting a rival. Any points he gains Leicester will have come off other teams in the league. Maybe if Leicester beat us into Europe by a couple of points we'll have cause to complain, but who saw them doing this well, really? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Good post amongst a trough of revisionist rubbish in this thread! It seems many of our fans are too thick to realise your point. Leicester won't finish above us...i'm very certain of this. Personally I've tended to favour Dyer as a player over Routledge if only because he shows more heart. Routledge has considerably more talent but is wasteful and somewhat gutless when the going gets tough (in cricketing parlance, Routs is the proverbial flat-track bully). Both of them need/needed a new challenge for some time now. Barrow is raw, probably lacks the tactical discipline that Monk wants but frankly he excites me a bit more than either Nath or Wayne but I'm probably alone in that thought!

So we've gone from poor in the last season to poor for the last three. Any advance on that hyperbole? Anyone prepared to claim that Dyer has always been shit?
| Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back. |

I know make you laugh don't it. The only remaining issue to be sorted, who is going to be this seasons new escaped goat now Dyer has gone.

Opinions indeed. I personally thought that Laudrup improved both dyer and rout ledge to the point where both where knocking on the door of England. We tied teams in knots playing Pablo, dyer and routs together at times. No doubt some systems suit him better than others, it will be interesting to see how he goes up there, my guess is he will do fine . Certainly grew in confidence as the game went on.
Nathan on 11:37 - Sep 14 with 1614 views | Pegojack | Just been looking at fans website Fox Talk and unsurprisingly they think the sun shines out of Nath's orifice at the moment. Some suggest they should buy him off us 'for five million' in the January transfer window but I think that's unlikely, as he's contracted until mid 2017. I think this loan could work out well for us, if it helps him to re-discover his form and confidence. We'll get a decent player back at the end of the season with another year left on his contract, and maybe a suitor in Leicester, desperate to sign him. Enter Huw Jenkins, and the mobile phone with the dodgy on-off switch.

I wonder if we can recall him in January if he finds his form consistently. Or is it going to be the Ki scenario again where we think we can but we can't.

They've paid a significant up front fee to have him for the season. If we are able to bring him back early, it'll probably mean giving most of that back. He's had half a good game, which was still not as good as either of our first choice wingers at their best this season. No need to panic.

Its the goldfish effect. All of a sudden it's forgotten that Ayew has scored three goals made one and contributed more than Nath did in twelve months. We've loaned him for the season, decision made. At the end of it, no doubt we'll be looking to upgrade anyway. Wouldn't be surprised to see him sold in Jan if Leicester are hot for him. The little man was a favourite of mine, but I think his time with us is probably done.
