Ayew refusing to train 15:08 - Aug 7 with 29643 viewsHighjack

What an absolute prick.

The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.

Last season there was a fine for attending training late of £600.

Both Ayews were late in most days.

If that's true the club should cancel his visa

I'm not sure who that's aimed at - Ayew, me or Naughts? You've got 2 out of 3 right and one of them isn't Naughts!

Love the comments from Potter - to the point, cutting and subtle all at once.

But to be honest JA looks so thick he probably wouldn't pick up on them.

Either put him with the u23s or don't pay him at all. Surely part of any contractual agreement is that you actually train to do your weekend job?

They were both late to the Awards dinner, only two players that were although Andre was 15 mins+ later than Jordan.

Cut the talk of visa suspension etc, he is supposed to be worth money to the club, if we could get someone to buy him.
So no action until the end of the transfer period.
Then it is a ton of bricks on his head.

I don’t think they are aimed at him as such. He’ll be dealt with privately and more directly.

Potter is essentially just putting what’s been going on in the public domain, as he has with a few quips about recruitment. It’s refreshing to see a manager do that rather than pander to his superstars/bosses.

Only slight worry is that putting it out there that Ayew is a twàt may put off potential suitors. Then again, it’s probably an open secret within football anyway.

Not sure about this / how common, but I think often if the player requests a transfer he doesn't get any % of the transfer fee.

So hopefully another saving there!

Irrelevant anyway as he's simply not turning up by the sounds of it. Which in a way is probably the best option as long as we do whatever we can regarding his breach of contract.

The difference with this compared to a typical employment contract is we can't just sack him as we need to get a transfer fee. Therefore he holds all the cards.

Compare it to you or I, whether we resign, contract expires, get fired, its generally the same financial outcome for a company unless they have acted illegally.

The best way would be to make players liable for their transfer fee if they break the contract. That would change a few attitudes sharpish.

Aye, nothing worse than having a 'mercenary' impostor and bad apple threatening to reap havoc from within (change of Osmond song lyric) "One bad apple will spoil the whole bunch, Sir".

I would not surprised if he'll be Ayew No2 being loaned out denying the club a vitally required transfer fee?

Employment law prevents that. Otherwise employers would be fining people a months wages every time they pull a sickie.

Not the same he's not sick- he's refusing to train which is effectively refusing to work.

If you phoned in and told your employer you didn't want to work- what would happen

Somebody really should have given him a slap early last season, either the captain or the manger.

His bad attitude was simply oozing out of him.

Let's hope these histrionics are part of a plan he has cooked up with some potential buyer and his agent, cos the only thing worse than selling him cheaply would be getting nothing for him and having to pay his wages.

Aye, he's pulled a spoilt-child with a hissy fit routine fuelled with additional angst caused by the fact there has hardly been a stampede for his services! Great players, players with a lot to offer, highly prized and sought after players would have gone and been transferred away ages back.

Oh, and I'd guess two of your most ardent rivals/critics on this forum whom have a reality detachment and common sense deficit that rivals the worst of conspiracy-theorist lunacy?....Might appear later telling us all that Jenkins was not wrong on this one, that Ayew is a victim and its all the supporters fault!
