Mention of a 'family connection' at Rochdale made me realise that Toby Philips is the son (?) of the legendary goal poacher. Clearly I must have missed it on here. No bad thing however to be seen as a club that gives youngsters a chance, and that from a seasoned professional.

Think he got a fair few goals in the youth set up and was seen as a good prospect if I remember rightly. Sounds a bigger unit than his dad, who I think was 5 foot 10.

To make a few of us (well most of us) feel old, his birthday was a few days before Dale drew 2-2 with Lincoln at Spotland.
Dale were 2 up through Jobson and Durkin, before Lincoln spoiled the party with 2 very late goals.
