That same out of form Morecambe team also held third place Carlisle to a draw on Monday, only a few weeks after they won 5-0 away to Sutton United, where Dale struggled to get a win.
The closest we've come in more 'recent' times was in 2006/07, when we finished with wins at Mansfield and at home to Macclesfield & Hartlepool, followed by a final day draw at Peterborough.
But as you say, this team has broken a lot of records this season, so hopefully there's time for at least one more.
I don't know why, but the defeat at York in November is regularly omitted when looking back at previous results (and it was after the famous Brackley game).
A draw that night would have given Dale an extra point and York two less, moving forward.
Obviously, there's been plenty of water under the bridge since then and subsequent results may well have been different (Chaos Theory), but that result could turn out to be the most important of the previous 45 come 25th April.
I'll precis what he said - "We know what we have to do, three wins and we win the league."
I'm glad you've mentioned what you have in your second sentence, as there have been a number of other Dale fans on other social media claiming both of those things!
Absolutely, although as Gary Waddock stated at the weekend, the players are playing for a place in their team for the FA Trophy Final against Southend.
They were replying to a fan who said York had had 17 shots at some point yesterday and that "we probably haven't had 17 shots in any game this season", before listing all the games in which we had!
How have we got to 98 points over 42 games without being flexible when the situation calls for it?
Sometimes you just don't play well and the opponents are better.
As 442 says, the game yesterday was decided in both boxes. Look at how well Morecambe blocked our efforts late on, for example, compared to the ease with which they scored their goals.
The offside was against Henderson from Gordon's initial shot/pass. Hard to see on the footage as he's just off camera until the ball gets to him.
If you watch the 'goal', the ref is already signalling for the free-kick as the ball gets to Smith. I commented at the time that the flag was already up before Smith had any involvement.
