This item is out there on the Web reporting on the pre-season predictions by the number-crunchers at FiveThirtyEight:
QPR were predicted to finish 13th by the data experts at the start of the season with 62 points. In reality, QPR finished 13th on 58 points.
Interesting, seeing as how our internal QPR fan narrative is of valiantly seeing off predictions we would be in for a season-long relegation battle. Disagree personally with those 'data experts' and still think we done great under Warbs Warburton.
Need to see what we and other clubs have done in the transfer window just prior to the first game of the season before contributing to this thread... and then an update once the transfer window(s) have closed
If anybody predicted us to be 13th with 62 points prior to the start of the season they were remarkably quiet prior to the start of the season.
Was probably a more likely guess if this was done at the start of the pre season when we would reasonably have been expected to make a few signings. Anybody expecting us to finish 13th when we rocked up a couple of days before the season without a striker was being incredibly optimistic (though correct as it turns out)
