Milnrow Juniors Vipers U9's, managed by former Rochdale YTS player Paul Adams, hit Radcliffe Borough Juniors for 6 at Kingsway High School as they continued their pre-season preparations. A resounding 6-0 scoreline probably doesn't tell the whole story as the game was a hard fought battle with Milnrow clinical in front of goal, especially the Milnrow #9 who bagged himself 4 of the 6 goals! A fantastic performance from the Vipers goalkeeper saw that the home side kept their second clean sheet in a week. Milnrow could, and probably should have hit double figures really but for the Radcliffe keeper keeping out Milnrow #10, the ginger winger, Chaff junior, no fewer than 5 times with some excellent saves. No goals = no Fortnite Vbucks for him.

Not on Tuesday no, Milnrow lined up in a brank new kit of red shirts/black sleeves, black shorts and red socks while Radcliffe were in all blue. HOWEVER!! The previous friendly saw the U9's Vipers against a newly formed U10's team, both wearing red/black/red and no away shirts so, we had to make use of the bibs!

| Liverpool under 21 s on 15:08 - Sep 2 with 3617 views | Dale92 | I watched it on LFC tv. first 15minutes we were lucky not to go behind, the lack of dm in the team was obvious and we just invited pressure on to us. Once we realised that they werent technically much better or worse than us, we kicked on. O'keefes size and power caused the poor LFC kids all sorts of problems, the goal as weve all seen by now, was a lovely finish and had both Steve Davis (yeah our one) and Neil Mellor pouring over it at half time. we could have potentially had another just before half time as well if i remember rightly (just got back form a festival so bar with me). Second half there was ever only one team in it. it turned to men vs boys, we avoided there big CB Billy (cant remember his second name) and Andrews just seem to drift into the space away from him causing all sorts of problems. in the end it could have been 6/7 if not for a better final ball or the keeper making decent saves. Brierley looked bright, Grant had terrible first half and grew. Jimmy Keohane looked good as always when he came on. Andrews looks like hes getting fitter and stronger. Broadbent did alright. Cashman looks a talent but needs to lift his head a bit more but theres a player there. overall a good night but room to improve | |

You did. Although I do vaguely remember a cup game where we won I think 2-1. Adams was pretty much marked out of the game, having one chance, which he scored from! Lee Healey was a great player as well. I was surprised he wasn't picked up by a league club. There were some really good players in that year with the likes of Proctor and Elsworth.

I remember the game I think, didn’t Healey bag a nice free kick? I agree about Healey not being picked up, he was awesome. As were both Proctor and Elsworth, both of whom should’ve played pro and were unlucky not to. Proctor got released from Bolton and Elsworth got an illness which meant his time at Burnley ended.

Pat was decent,I played with Healey a few times and knew Proctor if it was the one from Wardle you mean? One of the best players around that sort of time I played with and against was Trip seem to remember.

Aye, all Wardle lads. We had one hell of a school team with 8 of us on the town team. Good times. Not sure I remember trip though, what school/year? [Post edited 4 Sep 2021 18:10]
