Sounds like a goer - certainly on the menu for our next curry night.

Trying out protein high slow cooker curry recipes at the moment. I will say that the amount of prep needed, you might as well cook the normal one. It is a lot less fatty though.

Don't forget, no water.

I mentioned this to the mrs and she said you should use just a little and wet your hands too.

Thank you, goodnight and bollocks

I wouldn't want to argue with your Mrs, especially it being her cuisine.
But believe me, I've tried it several times with a little water, just as the recipe says, and it goes wetter and wetter when you mix the mixture with the onion (it's the onion releasing it's juices), just squeezing the dry mixture with the sliced onions creates enough moister to bind to the right texture..

I use a floured hand to shape before putting them into the pan, I love onion Bhajis, so I've really persevered to get it right after ditching so many failed batches.

I've only used white onions, but I'd expect they'd all turn yellow from the turmeric anyway.

One thing I have noticed with Indian cooking is that veggie dishes use red onion and meat dishes use white onion. But white onion for things like Pakora or Bhaji.

The Mrs makes these lovely potato and minced paneer pakoras, a real Mumbai street food item.

Never tried to make Pakora, when you've got time, the recipe and method would be appreciated.
