Another interesting read. There’s an important survey around finding out how fans feel about being either a fan owned model or going down the investor route.

Unless I’ve missed it, it’s disappointing that there’s been no further updates around the Volunteer Army which the club agreed to actioning by the end of January. Another month gone, time lost which creates unnecessary issues possibly leading to a feeling of detachment amongst a supporter base who want to help and increasing the chances of apathy growing when we can least afford it.

There’s an argument that completing a Trust survey about supporting investment would have been better served ahead of the club AGM/EGM in November.

If supporters/shareholders were explicitly aware then that outside investment may be pursued after any new shares were issued, they could have then voted accordingly.

Altman and Marcelli wanted to finance their project through 0% interest loans to the club. They could put the money in, attempt their project, and at any point demand back every penny they spent. Zero risk for them, catastrophic for the club.

It would be unthinkable to accept a loan without a re-payment schedule, for the reason you point out. And hardly zero risk to Altman and Marcelli if the club were to be would up. But if the money had been properly invested in income generating things at club it would have put us in a stronger position.
Really there is little difference between an investor like the one at Accrington who puts a couple of million quid in every season, possibly as Directors loans, to an interest free loan with a sensible re-payment schedule.
Look at Colchester, £29m in debts covered by a single investor, what happens if he has to call in his loans and the ground has been used as collateral? Its the risk you take when a person or group takes over, they need very deep pockets, we need very strong guarantees no question but were the 0% loans such a bad idea in retrospect? We might still be in L1 and balancing the books if we had taken the money. I bet Ball and John wouldn't have been signed using Altmans system.....that would have saved a chunk of money.

Look up north to our Carlisle friends & the Phillip Day / Purepay “loan” the the club.. repayments as interest building or pay it now could force them under..

Beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing is my view so not voting tbh..

& yes I will be putting a ticket on the lottery this week 🤞

If I win, it will become the BDB Arena..

One can only dream

That was precisely my point when i posted about fans having a "preview" of the intentions of the BoD

I'm not sure it may have been understood what i meant at the time
