Appoint a female manager, social media already full of full on sexist comments, surely if she has the qualifications and the confidence to do the job then that’s all that matters?
favourite cheese mature Cheddar. FFS there is no such thing as the EPL
I guess if ever a thread was going to go this way it would be this one but, still, wow. Some mad stuff.
Not mad as a figure of speech, like properly mad. Like you could do a good panel on it at a psychiatry conference.
I'd usually put a bit of a plea here that we try and keep the site moderator free (just me), let it flow, all topics in one place, bit like a pub, but that relies on a bit of buy in from you guys, not getting personal etc. Also that I basically get 1-2 weeks a year where both the day job and LFW quietens down to the point that I'm able to go and sit by a pool for a week with the lap top off, and we're in that fcking week now. But then, as it increasingly feels like some presences on here are entirely rooted in a desire to make my own experience of the website I've poured 20 years of effort into running as unpleasant and demoralising as possible, I doubt that would cut much ice.
The thread, unbelievably given the way it's gone, is about a poxy village League Two team, average home gate about 2500, giving a woman a temporary position for a bit in the off season while they look for a manager. It sticks, even very, very loosely, to that topic or it gets locked and saved for prosperity so we can always look back at the wild veering of topics that such a contentious issue caused, and I'll start deleting accounts.

Just close the message board and save yourself the aggro. Been saying it for years. People will stay for the match reports.

"Someone despises me. That's their problem." Marcus Aurelius
Maybe so but that's not relevant to the question I raised though which was around Bosh's comment that he believed this female coach he named would be in the Prem within two years
I pointed out the fact that an average U15's low level academy side would beat a top national level women's side so to me that seems a huge leap
And in that context I asked what was it that Bosh could point to back up his opinion. How could he be so sure about this considering she works at such a low standard of football that there are thousands of other coaches at the same or higher level
And to be clear my point is in no way a comment about a female manager ever being good enough. Of course they are. My question is around looking for what substance Bosh's comment was based on around this one specific person he claims to rate so highly and if it was anything more than just virtue signalling

Pretty depressing argument really regarding the low standard of football, we have to start giving Women coaches more senior roles as there is not a single reason they could not manage as successfully as a top male coach. If it takes some virtue signalling, who cares, we just need to create opportunities to prove people wrong. I bet people thought having a female Jockey in the Gold Cup or GN was virtue signalling at the time but that argument didn't last long.
If Jose the interpreter can win the Champions league anything is possible.
I well remember going to watch my sons games when he was a seven year old. The standard of play was shocking, I blamed Jill Elliot the coach, she now designs high power speed boats. Knew she'd come to no good.
i know us and Chelsea surely emma hayes must be first to be a premier or championship female manager
She turned Wimbledon a few years back which I thought was mental as it would have been groundbreaking for her, having said that think she may have been ill at the time.

Crawley as well I think last summer when the crypto bros took over.

She's not daft, best she's gonna do at Wimbledon is mid table league one which doesn't really get her another job where as her staying sees her managing in womens champions league, winning leagues etc
Have to have some new rules when the players come out of the shower area. Don't want to embarrass the manager!!!!!!!
Ha! About 20 years back female reporters were allowed in NFL dressing rooms for the first. There were similar palpitations and comments then to what's happening at FRG now.
One lady writer entered the New York Jets locker room, to confronted by a 300lb linebacker, just out of the shower. He pulled the towel from around his waist, leered at her, and said. "So waddya think about that then?" She looked him up and down, paused and replied "Well, it looks a bit like a penis... only smaller."
I'm sure FRG's manager can handle any similar incident with no trouble.

Can well understand turning that one down, if I was carrying the torch for my sex going into men’s football managing I wouldn’t choose the Bantr Bros, Fan Token, Virtual Stadium gobbos…

Na, not at all.
She has a lot of love for Chelsh1t so she wanted to stay, like I say think she was going through health stuff had the ITV comms job, plus in women's football Chelsea is big as it gets.
She isn't going to get a bigger job than Wimbledon or Crawley (as previous poster said) working for Chelsea ladies, dont be daft
My little brother (chelsea scum that he is) is a journalist for the FA, his job is to cover the ladies and goes most weekends. As much as it pains me to see my neice in a Chelsea shirt.
Anyway he is a link to his article for Emma Hayes for FA Cup Final and various other interviews for those interested in women's football....the first links is his article on Euro Final with my neice Niamh x
