if Corny's suspicions are correct then clearly our owners and our new CEO have not learned any lessons. they may save a few quid now but if we have a poor season it may cost them in lower crowds later on and could end up in an over all loss.

As with many things, effetive preparation is very important. In that article he asks is 3 days enough and I'd say no.

Assume we still get Ashby, he comes straight in and his first game is a disaster because of such little prep time, his confidence is knocked and it just gets worse. Who can the ownership blame? it'd probably be the player first.

Have we just been made more promises that are merely hot air. A new face comes in saying it'll be different and lessons have been learned only for us to realise it's yet more BS?

Excellent read, there really is no excuse for this dragging on.

Even if they are not here physically surely an agreement could be signed.

I really thought there would be more incoming after the players that have gone.

This has really dampened my close season optimism🤬

You give it out, you take it back it`s all part of the game

Speculation based on a hunch!
Well written and well reasoned but groundless.

Some contradicting articles flying about on the other site it says 2 coming in shortly Rushworth and Ashby with a 3rd to follow.

Either way I think the side will be a lot stronger come the end of the window.

Need Piroe sorting as that's starting to drag now.
It's not ideal the season starting 4 weeks before the window closes.
The EFL/EPL should sort that out.

Ashby started the game against Brighton last night, maybe Howe was willing to take the risk of him picking up an injury (and jeopardising a loan move) rather than a regular starter with 3 games over a short period of time, Lewis, as mentioned in the article, was a late call up, late call ups usually go along for the experience with a chance of a couple of minutes.
This of course is just an opinion.

Regards Ashby not signing when Lewis has for Watford, and they are both in the USA is far from groundless.

The back story is he wanted to stay in the uk and sort out his loan. I think that’s where the misunderstanding has come from. For me that makes the article even more alarming IF he went with his squad originally, which I’m hearing he didn’t. He followed on later. And his loan to Watford was completed as a result. Doesn’t matter either way what does is he has a loan and Ashby as yet hasn’t.

But the reason Ashby hasn't signed yet is an opinion, and as Swans fans thats the the main part of the article.

It is an opinin yes but it's based on previous experience of how our owners operate.

We shall find out the truth in due course, maybe.

For me it’s regards Lewis being in the same team as Ashby. The rest has been said.

The difference could be Watford has taken Lewis on loan with a view of a possible transfer, considering Newcastle signed Ashby in January, it would only be a seasons loan at most.

The article above stated Lewis was a late call up, Glamorganja k pointed to another article that stated it wasn't a late call up, they can't both be fact.
The part about trying to save money with the Ashby signing is opinion, Ashby started for Newcastle last night, surely if it was cut and dried he wouldn't have played any part in last nights game.

Could it be they are after a higher loan fee? Could playing him be a bit of shenanigans to say to us pay up because we are thinking of keeping and using him?
