Old Dale Badge 23:58 - Dec 1 with 1901 views

Did we used to have a badge with a tree on it? The story being it depicted a tree that was in the Sandy Lane end before a road widening scheme took part of the stand away and the tree is now outside the ground.
Or have I dreamed this?

I think the tree was in the middle of Sandy Lane and traffic passed either side of it for many years until it was eventually chopped down. I dont remember the ground ever having a tree inside but my Dad used to talk about it, I do remember putting a few coppers into the tins that they used to collect money to build the Sandy Lane End Stand so I guess it must have been towards the end of the 1950s that the alterations took place at that end of the ground.
