So, a day has gone by and I'm over it. But now that I have resigned myself to not winning the title what a.cracking last match of the season that is going to be if we can piss on York's chips. Bring it on!!!
Penalty happened right in front of me. Their player took his shooting foot out. It was two penalties never mind one. And to cap it all he gets booked for diving. Tbe ref really wound me up today. He let some really thuggish challenges go. Woking have to be the dirtiest team we have played in a while. With no proper protection from the officials And yet they could easily have had two. One where a shot spun off our defender with Whatmuff stranded. Luckily went wide. Then we were baying for offside when one of theirs men got loose. Fortunately Whatmuff did enough to put him off and he shot wide.
Tell you what: if York don't go up this season I bet that 2 up automatically out of this division will get rushed througb. If we don't make it there will just be a shrug of the shoulders.
This was a massive result. To pull a win out of the hat after going a goal down to a welll drilled team who (I thought) did press us really hard was nothing short of sensational. This should give our lads a real confidence boost for the games to come. York must be sick as erm .... a very sick thing.
I will let Jim off for the ponderous play. The results speak for themselves. But my neck aches from watching the ball being moved from side to side. I still think playing faster leads to more confusion for a defence, leading to more mistakes and more goal scoring opportunities. I am evidently a dinosaur in this regard. Well done the team tonight. As people have said, they stuck to their guns and it paid off (again). UTD
I dont remember fog at the Fulham game either I think we had been two down and were getting the upper hand. I'm sure we would have gone on to win the game and I thought Fulham were more than happy to have the game abandoned. I do remember the slush on the pitch turning rock solid, as the temperature plummeted. One of their's slipped and made a meal of it thus forcing the ref's hand. We, of course, lost the replay.
I was at the Bradford abandonment when the fog came rolling in at Valley Parade as well. At least we won that replay.
What an errudite young chap Jake is. If you haven't watched his interview yet it is worth it to see the kinds of lads we have at the club and the kind of culture Jim and co are trying to foster.
