There is very little on Twitter X or Official Site about tonight, is everyone asleep?

We’ve known Simon Gauge 2 minutes. Would you trust someone you’ve known that long?

Yes. I trust SG to know he's been keeping the lights on, when the money runs out (now), and what is likely to happen when the money runs out.

Tonight's EGM motions need to be passed to make any of these potential investors a possibility. That much has been made clear. Dealing with the facts, only one potential investor has gone public and a LOI been received.

Interesting rumour is that one. It has nothing to do with Burnham's affiliation to our club. He is the elected Mayor of Greater Manchester and in that capacity he has the authority to do as the rumour suggests. He has previously publicly said that there would never be 'another Bury' if he had any say in it.

Maybe, just maybe, he is standing by his word with a sincere gesture to allow the club to continue to search for the best option available. As things stand, it appears from general conversation with others, that this deal is the 'best deal for the Directors' as opposed to the 'best deal for the club/shareholders'.

It's a torment really, because we all want the club to come through this period of uncertainty in a much better position financially and with a new strategy for the future, involving sustainability and increased revenue.

There's no doubt that the identified bidders are bona fide and have wide experience in their field, but lots of things have to happen before there is any certainty surrounding the future.

I hope that in the event of any unseen hiccoughs, other options/offers are still being carefully considered and if Mr. Burnham is true to his (rumoured) word, then liquidation can be avoided by his offer of provision of funds. Maybe we won't need it, but it does provide a lifeline should it be required.

A lot depends on tonight. Doubts still dance in the minds of many, but we must all remember that the club itself matters above EVERYTHING else.

Until hes come out with money (Burnham), which he hasnt. Why should we believe he will? Council budgets are begging slashed all over the country and even more so in non Tory seats (all the additional funding from yesterday budget in the NW went to Tory seats). Council tax will go up as much as it can. And there going to buy us or keep us afloat, when food banks exist? Id personally be disgusted if the council did so, we have no right to go begging put of hand when theres an offer on the table

This is the One, I've waited for

Have a pint for me. I can’t make it due to my time being taken up by unsolicited phone calls and texts unfortunately.

LOI is only a stage in a long process. It's no guarantee of a concluded deal.

Indeed. Yet we’ve been told about the end of March deadline.

What would happen if any potential investor is willing to fund the club to continue discussions?

Surely that cut off point has to be reassessed if it’s in the best interests of the club
