Any good bands seen recently that people would recommend to go and see, local or any other bands?
Level 42 seen last year and they well exceeded my lower expectations, highly recommend.
Saw Joe Kelly & The Royal Pharmacy at the Brecon Jazz festival, not really jazz but enjoyed them live. Blues/ Country rock didn't know anything about them.

Saw Reef in the Patti on Sunday night. Really good gig. Gary Stringer looks like he's having the time of his life every time I've seen them live.

Volbeat in the Utilita was a great gig. One of the best live bands around at the moment.
Also enjoyed British Lion at the Tramshed. Not often you get the chance to see a living legend (Steve Harris) in a venue that small. | |

Went to this last night. Fantastic show.
She's a really unusual live performer. When she's engaging/talking with the crowd she looks terrified. Mumbly, quiet and wringing her hands in the way that anxious people often do.
As soon as the music starts? It's like someone flips a switch in her. Dancing, whirling across the stage and her voice is something else. | |

Local Music pub gigs are few and far between in the area I live now , and I have seen pubs rammed to the rafters for a upcoming show on a Friday and Saturday night .
Great stuff , free entry but buy the beer to cover the costs really not a problem for me .
I have seen some excellent bands too , are pubs not in a position to book these acts now at a loss to their finances and incoming bills so are boozers shutting daily it seems .
Leo Sayer at The Grand in November but at 50 notes a seat bit of a rethink necessary .
Great show he put on in Pothcawl Pavillion few years back at 25 quid , enjoyed it . | | | |
