Great guitarist too.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

Very insightful article but I fail to understand why there is a reference to a coach whose methods failed not only here but at the two clubs he joined after leaving here...with two different sets of players so maybe it wasnt all thenplayers fault?
Is there a concern that Maye might fail too?

Poll: Should Coleman ask Curt for advice/help?

He has developed his methods over seven years. Isn’t in the firing line as the head coach and has written the FA coaching licence courses. As stated I think the Martin reference was more about how this type of coaching is managed by someone who has years of experience as opposed to some who ‘preferred’ that way of coaching. As per the article I’m not aware how Martin dealt with the fall out from young men whose world is all about them.

Maye clearly has the credentials, qualifications amd track record at a premier league club. Big difference.

Sometimes it does need "two" its like Robertos days he brought Graeme Jones as his assistant I think to be the "bad' cop as unlike Roberto he had no attachment to the players. Sometimes it needs two different voices when dealimg with issues.
Though a good manager/coach should he capable of delivering constructive critisicm and advice .

I just hope we don't get into the mixed message syndrome we seemed to have with Sheehan and O'Dea. With a strong number two dictating the play it can end up with no real direction.

That from what we have learned isnt’t his role. It’s more about cohesion upwards, not troublesome issues. When you have a coach who is so well versed in communication and delivery Alongside the practical side (which he will be monitoring ) we are miles away from O’Dea and Martin.

On the psychology side i only compared the two (Martin and Maye) as two people who utilise this method aside all their other training strategies. It didn’t work at times for Martin with certain players, there’s not one contact we have who says the same about Maye. Just that if you can adapt and continue on a certain pathway he is proven at all levels with experience.

Hes 44 too, more respect and his CV is impeccable. The man who Morgan Rogers at Villa and number one for the ten role for England refers to as a major part of his development. Big differences.

Could he be a big part in regaining Cat one which the current decision makers seem keen to implement.

Thats part of my fear as now we have a coaching team of 9 lets hope its not a case of too many cooks spoil the broth as what we have seen so far from Matos has been encouraging

Of all the things that have been mooted as options, restoring Cat 1 status is absolutely vital.

I can understand why it was cut in the aftermath of relegation as we were right up shit creek financially, but if current ownership are prepared to subsidise the ongoing cost (disregarded for PSR purposes I understand) then it's a no brainer to do.

Pain or damage don't end the world. Or despair, or f*cking beatings. The world ends when you're dead. Until then, you got more punishment in store. Stand it like a man... and give some back.

What a FABULOUS and great, in-depth article!! Your best yet!

Question: How on earth does a club the size of Swansea can attract such a person like Maye to be a part of its organization!? This is a real coup! Maye's road to where he is today is really fascinating. When you think about it, he's been hired to "affect" in the psychological sense, both players and coaches.

Since I'm from the USA, and wasn't familiar with the acronym PGSE, I looked up what it stood for:

A PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) is a popular UK qualification for graduates wanting to become teachers, combining academic study of education with practical school placements, leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for teaching in state schools or a qualification for the post-compulsory sector (colleges, adult ed). It's a one-year, intensive course for graduates, focusing on teaching theory, classroom management, and subject-specific pedagogy.

Not being familiar with the word, pedagogy, I looked it up found this that even Perch can understand:

In simple terms, pedagogy is the art, science, and practice of teaching—it's how educators choose to help people learn, involving their beliefs about learning, the methods they use (lectures, projects, discussions), and how they adapt to different students and subjects to achieve educational goals. It's the entire strategy behind teaching, from understanding the learner to choosing the best tools and activities to foster understanding, skills, and growth.

As I’ve said before, we now seem to have more coaches than South Wales Transport. Its going to take quite a hefty wage bill to support these guys .
It’s been said before that we are basically a selling club if the right offer for a player comes in.
Do we now expect the selling of the likes of Galbraith, as part of the process?
Or do we now have more commercial revenues in place, to help balance the books?

I don't think management/owners will sell a player like Galbraith in the Jan window.

I don't know what to expect for the summer window, though. Kind of depends on how well the team and certain players, including Galbraith, do in the 2nd half of this season.

We will have enquiries, I think we have a price on every player and if that is met they will be gone. Hopefully we won't mess around and do any business early but its never like that, if the price is met late in the window they will still be gone.
