Alfie was posting ton twitter about an old team mate moving to a big club!
Huddersfield he later reviled.

Strange considering Celtic and Rangers were after him. Hope he does well there like.

Can't believe we let him go, one of the very few major oversights from Hillcroft for sure

The modern pioneer of mealy mouthed bollocks.

Cracking move for Higgy. He always had the talent, but there were doubts about his application. He's certainly sorted that out at Falkirk, and deserves his move back to a proper league.

Very possibly needed the move to Falkirk. Hill never seemed to doubt his ability.

Hill did have doubts about him though... whether it was based on ability or attitude; something wasn't right between them.

Having spoken to a Falkirk supporter about him, he took some time to settle, then did well before suffering an injury, from which he has emerged a very fine player indeed.

Always liked him during his time here...an underrated player by many imho. Almost guaranteed to do well against us!!!

I don't think Higgy was ever 'under-rated' at Spotland - his talent was there for all to see.

What was often questionable was his application, his 'team ethic' and sometimes his attention span seemed lacking. Rarely was he ever a 90 minute player.

I'm glad he seems to have addressed these aspects of his game, and hope he can now make his mark in League One.

Sometimes, players need time to "grow up"

If they've had a bit of a tough time as a kid (not saying that applies to Higgy) sometimes they can think the world's against them - if they weren't good at kicking a ball they might end up on the wrong side of the law. Moving away to Scotland and having to deal with different situations will have allowed him the space to find himself. Sometimes - that's all it needs!

If the player is good enough, managers should be able to work these things through with them, and recognise awkwardness and backchat for what it is - simple immaturity. Obviously, there's only so many chances you can give a player, or so much leeway, but just because a young player doesn't fit your precise model of what a good attitude is shouldn't lead to their downfall!

Dont think we saw enough of Higgy in his best position wch is as a number 10 playing just off the striker, similiar to Matty Done.

Good point. It was a role he often played from the start during our excellent run at the end of the Wembley season.

I believe he didn't have much choice than move away as his love of the casino in Manchester was causing him problems. A fresh start without the bad influences round him has done him the world of good it seems.
