Concerning the pending clear out of the Lower Loft ST holders (& yes it is happening) To cut to the chase, me & 2 other mates have to move & for the pleasure have been awarded a free upgrade to GOLD for the inconvenience. So we phone the Box & ask if there are 3 seats together in South Africa Rd..Reply "Can't tell you, just send in your forms & we'll be in touch" FOR FCUKS SAKE you must know which seats are non ST holders? Why not offer them over the phone & we can fill our forms in accordingly.
When they realise the Lower Loft will be empty with imaginary 8 year olds the fcukin penny might drop.

Maybe there are no non ST seats in groups of three available. They will not know what seats are available until the ST renewal deadline has passed. I agree they might have spelt that out but maybe they thought it was self evident.

Having moved in the past - you are better off waiting. At the minute to move to gold in South Africa Road you might get 3 in row in Gold but will be restricted view with a post in the way. After 30th June when all the glory hunters have given up their seats there will i guarantee better seats for 3 together! Best hang on and ask them for unrestricted view. Alternatively join us in Gold in the Ellerslie - quite a few blocks of 3 in gold non S/T last year !

Much has been said about this subject, thanks to a poster on here I'm re-newed back in the lower loft in my old seat and I sympathise with you poor bastards that have to move.

Being upgraded to gold will count for nothing at the end of next season except a rise in you're cost.

The last five home games at LR witnessed an atmosphere the likes that we haven't experienced for ages, I swear at home to Liverpool and Stoke the Lower Loft 'sucked' the winning goals in, in making the lower loft a family area I believe that atmosphere will be lost when you consider that evening games at Loftus Road kick off at 8.00pm.

I don't want to knock the club I really don't but I reckon they've got this all wrong, good luck NoDiddley, I hope It works out.

Ted we've exchanged nods & expletives over the years! We were in ML the 4 row block with good people! Not no more, utter bollox!

Look, if somebody came along and slung me out of my seat because of some "football family" initiative I'd be furious. My seat means a lot to me, lot of family history there, and I stay there despite all my friends sitting together on the opposite side of the ground. I disagree with the idea of making the entire lower loft a family zone and think we're going to end up with a situation where we're announcing games as sold out when they're actually not, and have midweek games where that tier is half empty. I think it's also going to affect the atmosphere.

But to say "this club has lost the plot" when we have the best CEO, the best vice chairman and the best chairman in my lifetime who are all committed and spending big on the first team, the youth team and the training facilities, who are actively engaging with the support base and accessible to everybody etc is bang out of order.

When people were being turfed out of their seats because Flavio thought he could turn the place into a boutique club with a C Club and W12 club and bringing Tamara Beckwith down to watch us play Norwich on a Monday night, then it was losing the plot. Now, mistakes will be made, but we're in good hands. People need to get a grip.

We are just over the wall in NL.
I think the club has really screwed up this time over this issue.
As has been said by others, how many families are going to be at evening games?
We travel down from Suffolk and don't get home until after midnight. That doesn't matter to me,but my 10 year old Daughter won't go to night games unless its the holidays. We missed the winner against Liverpool in order to get the last train home.
I'm not sure that I want to sit in a half empty family stand, when a lot of the people around me will have to move.
The atmosphere that was generated in the last few home games was something special, and I don't fancy being told to sit down and shut up because the noise is upsetting their kids.
My mate who sits on the end of the row next to me has received an e-mail to move and he is my Daughter's Godfather.
It is plain stupid to kick out adults who have had the same seats for ages, when there won't be enough demand to warrant the amount of space allocated for families.
If the stewards did their jobs properly and enforced the rules that are in place, most of the problems can be solved.
At least twice last season,I saw strangers walking to their seats in the lower loft carrying bottles of beer. The stewards just watched them.
Our ground is too small to have half of a stand given over to families.By all means stop selling S.T.s to new adults only, but honour the existing supporters, who have backed the club when we needed it.

We may have the best CEO, the best vice chairman and the best chairman in you're lifetime but the best CEO, the best vice chairman and the best chairman in you're lifetime have cocked up on this so you'll maybe understand why fans are pissed of.

I don't remember any pre-warning from the club or any actively engaging from the club.

Move, that's what I was told.

Like I said earlier I don't want to moan about the club but If they've got something wrong as they clearly have here then I'm entitled moan.

Agree entirely, but I do think people are too quick to declare the end of the world over small things when in years gone by we've had far more serious issues to contend with.

If you had gone to football with the same people over the years, and were then forced to move to a new area, without them even being able to say where you can sit,or whether you will be able to find seats together, then I think people have a right to be upset.
This is not just another stand, this is our stand, where fans have stood and sat for sometimes their entire footballing lives, with mates that they have been together with for years.

Agree with this as well. Read the start of my first post.

A seat is not just a seat. My seat is where I sat with Stuart before he died and where I intend to sit until I die. It' part of the experience. It's an emotional attachment. I know everybody within ten seats of where I sit and I'd miss them all if I had to move (they probably would miss me less so).

There's no "I'm alright Jack" or "it's only a seat, what's your problem?" from me because I know this will be terrible for some people.

However if you'd come up to me a few years ago when we were drawing at home to Mansfield Town and said: "mate there's this Malaysian airline guy who wants to buy this club, bring in players like Djibril Cisse, and build you a team that can beat Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea at home. But he wants to move you out of your seat and create a family area" I'd have said thank you very much indeed.

All I'm saying is considering the owners we've had previously and the attitude they had to the fans, to say this lot have "lost the plot" because of this is way, way over the top. Moan and complain by all means, but some of the grief they've had over this is at a level I'd expect to be reserved for people who've burgled your grandmother's house.

If the decision was well explained or made immediate sense then people wouldn't be so wound up I don't think. I don't know many people who can see the sense in making the entire lower loft families only - the ground isn't big enough - but if there had been pre-warning and explanation, I think the majority who are voicing their displeasure now would feel upset at having to move - but understand as everyone wants the best for the club.

You've got to say that its strange that when board members are consulting with adult fans about what they think about things like the mascot - but not (with seemingly anyone apart from a record number of complaints last season about behaviour to the box office) about the Lower Loft policy on next seasons ST's. The Box Office staff themselves were only told about it last minute (they say).

+1. Agree 100%.

Some of the grief Fernandes gets on Twitter by some of our 'fans' is truly embarrassing. Three days after we announced details but buying Warren Farm and building a state of the art Youth Academy TF was abused over the colour of the f'king shirts and not changing the badge.

I'm more upset at how quickly the decision has been made, without the chance to arrange a move to the same area as friends.
Also, what happened to consulting with the people concerned first? How hard would it have been to send an e-mail to ask for fans opinions before deciding what to do?

Clive,

We've got about 12-15 regular QPR fans in and around Newbury who travel up to LR all of them ST holders, I met one at work today who went to the box office Saturday and got short shrift and as a consequence is now without a ST.
This guy like me has passed the age of 60 and like me has supported Rangers from day one, he is ex Park Royal I'm ex Hammersmith, His grown up kids are all QPR and so are they're kids, he and most of the lads from Newbury all sit together and have done for yonks in the lower loft, that has now come to an end, It might not mean anything to people who sit elsewhere in the ground but this bloke is now in a position whereby him and the rest of them will probably end up sitting miles apart from each other.
Yes I can understand up to a point where some people on here might say so what? but even the most hard nosed fcker would understand why people who have got to move are guffed off.

I take you're point about the owners, no problem with that but at the same time If I think they're wrong (which I obviously do) I'm not about to 'tip my hat' to them just because they're the best owners we've ever had.

It's not a small thing It really isn't.

Seeing as the lower loft is now the family stand, would it not be reasonable for all the adults with kids to be moved from the paddocks in order to free up the seats for those moved from the loft who can't afford the gold prices?

Why should I move from the paddocks, I take my kids but don't like family stands, my lad as well as quite a few of the kids who sit around me wouldn't like sitting in a sterile stand either.

How about putting he family section back to R block where it was in 1990, then all the singers can sit behind the goal creating an atmosphere.

I'm not saying that you should move, but if the club wants to make the lower loft families only, where are the 300 people affected supposed to move to?
I don't want to sit in a sterile stand either, but what choice is there?

Clive is, as usual, spot on, but by God it is a particuarly big and potentially very stupid mistake for the club to make.

Could we not get some petition or something asking them to put the family area in another place? Behind the home goal is a totally ludicrous idea.

Compared to the last lot it's ridiculous to suggest they're losing the plot; outpricing loyal fans and trying to create boutique is losing the plot.

Could the club want to put the family area in the Lower Loft because that's where the highest proportion of adults with children are?

Three of us cannot get seats together so for the time being have reserved two in row G and one in row C block W Elleslie!

It's not just being turfed out that's the problem, two of us are over six feet and have leg problems, front row LL is the only seat we've had where we can literally stretch our legs out. Two of the reserved are aisle seats which anyone over six foot will know that you have to sit sideways and end up with chronic backache.
I know there are more serious things to talk about but my health is important to me.
