If you had to change the formation and starting line up what would you do? As a further point what do we need in Jan?

for me

Lillis
Rafferty Bennett Pdot Kmac
Tutte JK
Putterill Grant
Grimes
Gornell

Obviously thats if we had Terry G long term.

Fecking hell, spent ages lining up the formation and its gone in a straight fecking line!! 4 4 2 with grimes just behind TG

Lillis

Cav / Bennett / Edwards / Mac

Tutte / X / JK

Grant / Grime / Gornell

Hoping we sign Gornell and X - a centre mid. We were linked with Procter earlier in the season but not sure the chances of this as he seems to be playing most games for Preston.

Obviously would love to see us go 442 but can't see us signing 2 good enough wingers and Putterill doesn't look like he's ever going to be fit enough to play 90 mins

These Behind Closed Doors against higher league sides are not helping should be organizing them against local conference sides like Stockport/Hereford and places like Hyde and Droysden its the second injury we've gained through a game against higher league Behind Closed Doors

Tazzy, Hereford is slightly less local now we've had the ice age.

For what it worth

Smith
Pearson -- R Edwards - Bennet -- KMc (To be replaced in Jan)

Raffety == Tutte ---- JK == Gornell
Grimes (Matt Done role)

Grant

Gornell and Raff to give cover to the Full Backs when we dont have the ball and stopping them being exposed as they are currently, but then to break through Grimes and Grant with Gornell and Raff/Tutte taking it in turns to support with the other offering defensive protection.

Are we saying Grant, who is our top scorer and had played 90 minutes last week, played in a friendly?

Adebola and Grimes hadn't come on the week before, surely they along with trying a youth teamer would have been a better idea?

Can't believe how stupid coleman was to risk not only our best player, but our top goal scorer in a meaningless friendly. Unreal, i just hope for JC's sake he's back sooner rather than later, as not only does it provide another stick for him to be beaten with, but it also puts his job at risk as i'm sure our win % with grant is much higher than without.

If these games are replacing training sessions then it makes absolute sense.

Will have a go at picking a side for a game like that....

Smith
Pearson, P.Edwards, Bennett, McIntyre
Putterill, Craney, BBM, Logan
Adebola, Grimes

Give P.Edwards and Bennett a chance to get used to playing together ahead of Aldershot, but sub them for youngsters at half time. Give McIntyre some game time after a week out, the rest have been on the bench so needed some match action too. Again use subs, especially some of the youth team who have to see that their impressive form has seen them take part in games like his alongside recognised first teamers.

but as said last week, I think the nature of the opposition is hurting us. We are playing superior teams and as such aren't tackling the issues that have blighted our home form. We need to be playing the odd practice game against Conference opposition and working on breaking opposition teams down rather than taking on Premiership / Championship sides where we will be more defensive in mindset.

Didn't say the choice of opposition was correct, just that if a game is to replace a training session then all players should take part.
