Grab a Grand 17:29 - Jan 6 with 2351 views | RaymondJohn | As the new year kicks in , update on the sales against Golden Gamble for the same fixtures not matches ie identical games is virtually running out equal as his the attendances 3% difference so thank you so much for your continued support. Grab a Grand on 18:18 - Jan 6 with 1549 views | Dalenet | Thanks for the update RJ. So despite changing the match day draw no improvement to sales has been seen. I am assuming that the club was hoping to see it improve or you wouldn't have changed it? Or am I stupid?
Grab a Grand on 18:26 - Jan 6 with 1528 views | 442Dale | Crucially, with the changes in prizes including the £1000 jackpot, do the profits made from sales justify the change?

Fair enough and for the 4 people with £1k in their pocket they will be delighted. Just wondered whether we had made the change to try and stimulate sales and interest or whether there were other reasons. Maybe we should ask at the fans forum instead as it isn't fair to get you to say anything on here
Grab a Grand on 18:43 - Jan 6 with 1463 views | RaymondJohn | As with any change, you get negativity, my aim was to stabilise sales against all the negativity and then drive it forward in the new year, that is exactly what we have done and we will now up our sales campaigns and improve sales. We felt the old draw had become stale and sales were dropping so it needed refreshing and the fall in sales stopping, that as happened and we now move forward. [Post edited 6 Jan 2020 18:45]

Thanks for the update. I think it led to supporters being interested in specifics around how much possible profits may be coming from Grab a Grand towards the club’s overall income. ie. if these have justified the change it could indirectly mean an increase in the playing budget as all income streams will contribute towards that. That’s certainly not negative.

Grab a Grand on 18:48 - Jan 6 with 1435 views | RaymondJohn | No , that is not negative and as you say all revenue streams are to improve the club the lottery is however here to raise finds for the youth and academy sections of our club . [Post edited 6 Jan 2020 18:49]

Is there an update on the figures raised so far for the Academy as previously mentioned and promised to the Trust/on here in the past?

Apologies. If you could raise it with whoever could provide the info that would be much appreciated. It’s really good the club liaise with supporters whether it be with the Trust/social media/their own website or providing info like we’ve seen in this thread, so it’s good to know feedback through all these avenues can be followed up. Thanks in advance.

Cheers. Could you ask they put the totals raised for the academy on the club official site so we can all see how the commendable efforts of all involved are contributing to producing the players of tomorrow? If nothing else, it’ll save you a job having to post it on here!

Well we need to let go. The change has been made and has been an overwhelming success for the club. We are selling virtually the same number of tickets at a higher price so us doubters really need to take a step back and applaud the change.

It might even improve sales if we can see the positive it is having on the academy in terms of funds raised and what those funds have helped towards.

Not seen any figures but I read the statement as meaning that we have sold more or less the same number of Grab a Grand tickets over a measured period as we did Golden Gamble tickets. So, doubling the price means we have doubled the income before prizes and commissions, is my understanding. Highly commendable. Apologies if I got this wrong.

Hasn't the prize increased considerably though too Judd and reducing the actual profit?

The potential first prize is probably far more than we ever paid out on GG, that being 50:50. The initial prize is capped at £100 with a chance of winning a further £900, so unless we are paying out a high number of bonus wins, profitability can only be speculated on.

So now you are saying it may/may not be an overwhelming success but only the club knows.

No. I'm being positive based on the information in the OP. Sales of tickets are not down. Ergo, a £1 ticket now sold for £2 at the same volume of ticket sales (more or less) must equate to doubled income pre expenses. In my grateful opinion.
