Kicking towards the Sandy, the terrace would always look reasonably full as it was the days of the ‘walk-round’ where fans would be on the Willbutts when kicking towards the away end and then move en masse at half time. Or vice versa.
There was also a smaller percentage who would stand in the main stand paddock and do the same. There’s a decent chance that during that era well over 50% of the home support would be in the Sandy when kicking that way. Actually, maybe as much as three quarters at times.
