Always grating when an internal candidate gets the role you've set your heart on.
Or perhaps the Oldham Board did not want someone who claims "Proven success directing and managing an elite level Professional Football Club by devising and implementing programmes to accomplish set objectives for corporate and SME organisations."
George Bernard Shaw had it right:
"He who can does; he who cannot, teaches."

They soon fired him off and replaced him with someone who actually got things done.
I also noted the £750k loan secured during Covid. If this is the council loan, RMBC would not reveal the size of loan because of commercial sensitivity. How professional is revealing it?
That’s a remarkable turnaround in profitability too. Cannot believe Oldham did not engage somebody who engineered 2 games v Newcastle (1 televised), an away tie at Man Utd and the sale of a defender from WBA to Watford.

The CV was freely available from LinkedIn.
I noticed too, judd that there is a desire to be contacted.
Contact details seem to appear in the top right corner of one of the images.
The truest thing on there is the line that takes responsibility for "ensuring highest profile ever of Club in EFL and Media"
I doubt our profile has ever been higher within the EFL because of what has gone on.

I do wonder if our council executive will challenge the apparent revealing of the size of loan that RMBC did not want to reveal. I doubt a FOIR would have got the information released.
There's so much BS in that CV it's a joke. A lack of brevity suggests "The lady doth protest too much, methinks". A term of Shakespearian origin, it is suspected that, because someone is insisting too much about something, (e.g. I am the most wonderful businessman ever) the opposite of what he or she is saying must be true. We know.

I wonder whether the unjustified salary increase to an already bloated salary was made before or after the £ 750k loan was secured? If after then I don't think that the lender would be very happy.
Non-Executive Director RDA (Rochdale Development Agency) "Won £11M European Funding for Town Hall Project."
No he didn't. He was a non executive director of the RDA who acted as a team. Bottomley resigned from the Board of the RDA on 9 September 2021. Was he pushed or did he jump?

Let's go back to how the "exceptionally articulate communicator" failed to communicate BBM's contract extension for months after it happened. Let's recall the "exceptionally articulate" unanswered e-mails and queries from supporters and shareholders to him. Let's recall the apologetic letter from last March that mentioned communications issues three times! It just doesn't wash.

Have to say that I thought the advertised away following of approx 1500 appeared a little low as well. If I recall at least 5 blocks were virtually full.
