Dickster and JPS? When you know, you know.

She transformed the commercial approach at Rochdale and made a big success of the role. The above quote is my personal highlight. | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Sounds very much like 6 months was a probation period to me. I know for a fact of one company that wouldn’t renew their sponsorship at Blackburn under her tenure.

Former Employee Moves On on 13:45 - Aug 15 with 4176 views | golfaduffy | Completely out of her depth at Rochdale. Upset a few of our sponsors and lived on the fact that Bottomley (also useless) liked her....another classic Roger mistake. Poor old FCUM.
Former Employee Moves On on 14:29 - Aug 15 with 4029 views | Dalenet | The FCUM announcements make interesting reading. They have recruited a Commercial Manager and an Events manager. They have also appointed somebody part time to manage match day activities. For a non league club they are staffed as well as we are in these roles. Shows some ambition (assuming they grow the revenue). And their average gate is 1770 - way above most in that league.
Former Employee Moves On on 14:59 - Aug 15 with 3885 views | HullDale | "Frances Fielding joins the club on Monday (August 15th) with a brief to be responsible for all commercial aspects of the club, including advertising and sponsorship, season ticket sales and developing long-term partnerships. She has a wealth of commercial experience in football, with 10 years as Commercial Director at Rochdale AFC where she led on all commercial activity for the club, including campaigns to sell season tickets, advertising and events. Incorrect. She was at Rochdale AFC for seven years, and acted as a non/exec director for three years and four months More recently Frances worked as Head of Commercial at Blackburn Rovers where she sold hundreds of thousands of pounds of advertising and sponsorship deals. I wouldn't suggest hundreds of thousands of pounds (potentially as little as £200K) is a particularly impressive number for a club of Blackburn's size.. especially with the brilliant work they were already doing in the community and their expansion of demographics on matchdays. Its also alleged that she proactively contacted sponsors and partners of RAFC, and tried to get them to follow her to Blackburn instead of staying with Dale. I've heard of at least three companies she approached, all from different sources, so I'm inclined to believe that is accurate. FC’s Chief Executive Officer Natalie Atkinson said: “I’ve known Frances for some time and her experience and capability is just what we need. “Frances has been following FC’s fortunes for some time and when the role came up with us, she felt it was the right move at the right time for her. “She transformed the commercial approach at Rochdale and made a big success of the role. So of course we are looking forward to her doing the same here, and bringing in additional income to help us fund our promotion push over the next two to three years.” Define big success. Pitiful performance of the venues and spaces we have available, huge losses in the Covid year, borderline abusive exchanges with customers on social media, incorrect names / spelling / details on sponsorship letters, as well as much rumoured concerns about professional behaviour whilst in post. Frances is one of a number of new appointments made as part of the club’s new staffing structure. The recruitment of new people is aimed at driving delivery of the targets in our business plan and ultimately achieving promotion to the National League North, to meet the aspirations of co-owners as set out in FC United’s Vision." I wonder who she had as a reference on her CV from her time here. [Post edited 15 Aug 2022 15:18]

"Poor old FCUM" nah, hope she is a failure for them, no time for the united rejects just like I have no time for united. The rest about her stay here is right. One of Bottomley the tw*t's many failures.

Former Employee Moves On on 17:51 - Aug 15 with 3535 views | jonahwhereru | I am very distant from the noise and shenanigans that surrounded the previous board, but I have to say at the few online events she appeared at I didn’t think she was at all slick. It should be what you known rather than how you put it across that counts, but honestly I thought she had a low ceiling. Might have been around senior banking people to long, who can complexed detail across as if there having a chat with you in a pub. But she didn’t have the full toolbox.

Thought much the same at the, couple of Fans forums I have seen her at. Lets not forget, Bottom gave her the job of justifying the closure of the Gold Bond collection rounds using Covid as the excuse for handing it over to the former Burnley Chairmans company I also believe there were very cosy (actually appalling) deals done on the sponsorhip of at least 2 stands. Any fool can close cut-price deals, getting great deals is much harder.

At the last forum before her departure she looked absolutely disgusted that someone dared question her about goldbond when she picked up the microphone (in my opinion ). She talked to supporters like they were an inconvenience and we are so lucky to be rid of her and her odious brother.
